Ultimate 6er | It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia

Ultimate 6er | It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia
Andy Manshel

The latest, and as always, ridiculous It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia continues to a 12th season. And what better show to sit down with an Ultimate 6er for? Well, maybe not the entire six pack since some of these are strictly for the type of… gentlemen… that the series showcases. So here’s to everyone’s favorite show about everyone’s favorite alcoholics.

Dennis Reynolds

Arrogant Bastard Ale

Stone Brewing Co., San Diego, CA

The perfect beer for the most misogynistic character in modern television. I can almost guarantee Dennis was drinking one of these while creating his infamous D.E.N.N.I.S. system. Malty, hoppy and bitter, this strong ale stands out in a class of its own, much like the loveable and hateable Dennis Reynolds.

Deandra “Sweet Dee” Reynolds

Raging Bitch Belgian IPA

Flying Dog Brewery, Frederick, MD

This IPA is sweet and bitter, much like Dennis’ sister. Like Flying Dog’s Raging Bitch, upon initial observation, you would consider Deandra any other standard crazy blonde, but she delivers once you get to know her. Slightly sweet at first, they both pack a punch, the beer at 8.3% ABV. Careful you don’t fall too much in love though; overconsumption of either generally leads to regurgitation.

Ronald “Mac” McDonald

Coors Light

Coors Brewing Co. (now MillerCoors), Golden, CO

You have to give Mac a pass for trying so hard. He’s lovable, but he’s far from perfect at what he does. When trying to instill fear into the hearts of his foes, he uses his oh-so-cool T-shirts and dragon tattoos to impress. And like good ole’ Coors Light, you keep it around for the sake of being there. It might not be the best, but it gets the job done… eventually.

Charlie Kelly

Tactical Nuclear Penguin

BrewDog Brewery, Fraserburgh, Scottland

For one of the most ridiculous character in television history, you will need to have one of the most ridiculous brews in beer history to accompany. At 32% ABV (no, that’s not a typo), Tactical Nuclear Penguin is on another level of utter insanity. I can’t describe the taste since 1) I can’t afford it, and 2) Does nail-polish remover even have a taste? Drinking one of these would turn you into someone that might resemble loveably-crazy Charlie, although I doubt it would give you any cravings for milksteak.

Frank Reynolds

Schlitz Beer

The Joseph Schlitz Brewing Company (now Pabst), Milwaukee, WI

If there’s one word that describes Frank, it’s class. Or rather, lack thereof. So what better beer to drink to Frank, arguably the actor that made Sunny famous, than with the beer that arguably made Milwaukee famous? To get the full effect, I recommend drinking it like Frank:

The McPoyle Family

Milk Stout Nitro

Left Hand Brewing Co., Longmont, CO

The McPoyles are in a league of their own as far as oddities go, and damn do they love drinking milk. So allow me to introduce you to one of my personal favorite beers. Left Hand’s Milk Stout is as surprising as it gets, with sweet and creamy tones on top of a thick and heavy stout, especially the nitro version. It’s delicious, it’s nutritious, and it won’t try to stab you with a fork. The same can’t be said for Liam, Ryan and Margaret.
