The final roadblock in the AB InBev-SABMiller merger has finally been removed. Shareholders from both companies voted to approve the merger last week. New California Law Allows Salons/Barbershops to Serve Beer and Wine
Getting your haircut in California just became a lot more fun. Governor Jerry Brown signed a bill into law last week allowing salons and barbershops to provide complimentary glasses of wine or beer to their customers. So even if you get a bad haircut, the glass of beer might make it a little less noticeable. Irish Food Safety and HSE Investigations Target ‘Craft Beers’
Irish regulatory agencies, Food Safety Authority of Ireland (FSAI) and Health Service Executive (HSE), are investigating craft beers in Ireland. Deftones Get Their Own Beer
Legendary rock band, the Deftones, are breaking into the craft beer business. Through a partnership with Belching Beaver Brewery, the Deftones have created Phantom Bride IPA, inspired by the track ‘Phantom Bride’ off of their latest album. Like all West Coast IPA’s, Phantom Bridge is dripping in hops. To be exact, this IPA is dripping in Mosaic, Amarillo, Simcoe, and Citra hops. These ain’t no regular hops, though. These hops are extra special because they were all handpicked by Deftones lead singer and guitarist, Chino Moreno. Phantom Bride IPA debuts today, October 3rd. Unfortunately for craft beer-loving Deftones fans across the country, this beer will only be available in a few states: Washington, Oregon, Hawaii, California, and Nevada. [Read full article]
