The Perseids meteor shower is the annual mid august star gazer’s dream.

How to do it right:

Go out to the middle of the country, pack a blanket, pillow, jacket, a little bit of smoke, and a flavorful dark malt bomb to accompany the cosmos. No lights allowed.

For this year’s festivities, we were complimented with Avery’s Kaiser.  The imperial oktoberfest lager paired well with its balanced caramel malt characteristics and spicy undertones that gave texture and depth to the witnessing of the infinite sky.  Hints of fig, dark fruit and cinnamon offered complexity that gave way to a beer that was in no way to be rushed.  The alcohol was present in this gem, but perfectly balanced to offer a little bit of heat to the windy chilly darkness.

Dark + sweet + well-paced = an exuberant pair for you star gazers out there.
