As the holidays are upon us, things are slow and only a handful of breweries and eateries are open today. Many will be back at it again tomorrow, so check back here to viddy what is happening in the local Denver scene in this weeks Denver Beer Beat.

Hops & Pie (Denver)- The Hops & Pie crew wish their friends and patrons Happy Holidays!! They also note that they are going to be taking a few days off so they can all kick back, enjoy good company, tasty eats and some great beers. They will be back in action Thursday the 26th at 11:30 am sharp!!
Yak & Yeti Restaurant & Brewpub (Arvada) – They’ll be open on Christmas Day and New Years Day from 11AM until 8PM. Climb in for the lunch buffet or just swill some beers after you’ve had your holiday meal. The brewpub will also be releasing their Peppermint Porter on Christmas Day at 11am. This holiday porter is their Sherpa Porter infused with organic tea cut peppermint leaves.
Star Bar (Denver) – Hey Denver! It’s a Christmas Miracle! The folks at Star Bar will be open on Christmas Day! And whether you were naughty or nice, they’ll be selling Rock Star (a wicked sour beer) made by us and Falling Rock Tap House w/ New Belgium Brewing for $4. Ho ho ho! Be thirsty!
TRVE Brewing (Denver) – With many breweries being closed on Christmas Day, TRVE Brewing will be open and have their regular hours from 4pm to 11pm. In annual tradition, they will be watching the movie Die Hard in the taproom. Swing by after your family passes out from the holiday ham.

Parry’s Pizza (Greenwood Village) – The good folks from Oskar Blues Brewery will be at Parry’s Greenwood Village location for a pint night. Get down here and get some glass when you purchase one of their beers. They will have Gubna & Mama’s Little Yella Pils.

Epic Brewing – Denver Taproom (Denver) – Epic Brewing Company is excited to be partnering with Big Kiwi Eats to bring you a special holiday brunch.
Brunch is served with two beer “cocktails” and your choice of:
Ham steak with Big Bad Baptist red eye gravy – cheesy grits, home fries
Belgian Sweet Potato or Gluten Free waffles, home fries, choice of toppings:
– fresh fruit, flambeed cherries & chantilly cream
– crispy pork belly & flambeed bourbon braised apples
– roasted peach & house made breakfast sausages
Buttermilk biscuits -145 degree egg, home fries, choice of:
Spanish chorizo gravy or mushroom gravy
Brunch begins with complimentary coffee and pastries. At 10:45 we will begin the white elephant gift exchange.

Yak & Yeti Restaurant & Brewpub (Arvada) – Today will mark the release of their Sherpa Porter. Sherpa Porter boasts a 5.4% abv & 30ibu – traditional English porter that focuses more on cocoa than the roast. This delicious seasonal porter will be around all winter! Also released today will be their Musee des Beer Arts. A brew coming in at a 7.5% abv & 24ibu, this ale is a tumultuous Bordeaux Barrel-aged Belgian Blonde. Released as a small batch only; you better get to the Y&Y soonskies!

Rackhouse Pub (Denver) –As is the traditional style for the Rackhouse Pub, they don’t do things small. Big burgers, big sandwiches, and big beers are just some of the things they do big. As such, they’re making New Year’s Eve a big deal around Denver. Like a REALLY BIG DEAL. They’ve partnered with the venerable Avery Brewing Company to do a tap takeover. So come in the night of December 31, and bring your girlfriend, wife, mother-in-law, friends, enemies, or people you just meet on the street. It’s gonna be special. The event will be one for the ages with over 25 beers on the Tap Takeover including beers from their Holy Trinity of Ales, The Dictator Series, and The Demon Ales.
Bull & Bush Brewery (Denver) – The Bull & Bush Brewery New Year’s Eve Tradition continues with Carney Snacks, a Champagne Toast, Party Favors, the usual shenanigans and hijinx! Wear your best Vegas outfit and rock out to Torpedo Vegas! Music to begin around 9:30.
Ale House at Amato’s (Denver) – Celebrate New Year’s Eve with Left Hand Brewing. Party will begin at 5p. There will be 10 specialty, seasonal and year round beers on tap. They will feature a toast with their returning barleypop of goodness, Widdershins Barleywine, at Midnight. Other beers on tap will include: Mr. Black Schwarzbier, Oktoberfest Marzen, Dunkelweiss, Depp Cover Brown Ale, Jackman’s American pale Ale, Motherlode Golden Ale, Safety Round – Round 2, Polestar Pilsner, and Milk Stout Nitro.
Mountain Toad Brewing (Golden) – The folks at Mountain Toad will be open on New Years Eve to accommodate your beer desires – cheers! Perfect time to get a growler fill for the New Year.
CHUBurger (Longmont) – They’re getting close to our second beer showdown, the Stout Off! They have some super-mega-awesome beers for you to judge, so stop in to CHUBurger on New Years Eve, drink some stouts, have a burger, and enter for your chance to win FREE BEER FOR A MONTH!
Odyssey Beerwerks (Arvada) – New Years Eve: Odyssey will be open until 1:00am New Years eve/morning, crashing into the new year with Jim Jam Jimmy!!
