PorchDrinking’s Weekly Denver Beer Beat
Another crazy week of GABF events is behind us as well as summer and its festival season. This week is a breath of fresh air for many brewers, front of house staff and bottle shoppe owners in the Denver area. As we push closer to the holidays, we will see an increase in more localized tastings, pairings and celebrations. So we raise a glass to our friends in beer and congratulate them on their medals, lack of beer and lack of sleep as we eschew you readers into a few events that are most excellent. The local #Denverbeer scene isn’t off the rails this week but their is still some serious buzzing on the track and light moving through the tunnel.
Are you native to the city and looking for events to tide you over for the week? Are you new to the city and looking for the best place to find tasty suds? Visiting and looking for events to hit while you are in town? Check out this week’s Denver Beer Beat and return each week to find all things #craftbeer in the Denver Metro Area.

Refreshment for a Cause @ Parry’s Pizza locations (All 4 metro locations)
Time: 11am to close.
Greenwood Village, Highlands Ranch, Castle Rock, and Parker.
Not too long ago Parry’s Pizza paired up with Epic Brewing to provide a beer that would be privately labeled through Parry’s. The beer was to be called, Landon’s Wanna Walk Wheat. To make a long story short, they wanted this to be a refreshing beer for a cause. So, they paired up with St. Jude Children’s Hospitals to make the sales of this beer go further for the good of children and their families. For every pint they sell of this beer, they are going to give .25¢ to St. Jude. They’ve been doing this since October 1st of 2013 and the last day for this round of donations is October 1st of this year. After October 1st, they’ll tally everything up and then they’re throwing a party. But don’t fret, they’ll be doing this from here on out with Landon’s Wanna Walk Wheat.
Many breweries have generously donated kegs of their own beer to further their efforts in getting St. Jude the donations they need to continue doing what they do. All sales from these beers will be donated to St. Jude. The Parry’s Greenwood Village location is where the check will be presented to St. Jude’s representatives and a photo op with many of the contributors. It’s also where Epic Brewing will have their one-off firkin made especially for this event. All day. All Parry’s Locations.
Participating breweries include Renegade Brewing, New Belgium Brewing, Avery Brewing, Grist Brewing, Epic Brewing, Paradox Brewing, Blue Spruce Brewing, Uinta, Twisted Pine Brewing, Odell Brewing, Great Divide Brewing, Lone Tree Brewing and more TBA.

Update on the Acid Temple via TRVE Brewing (Baker/Valverde)
2620 W 2nd Ave, Denver CO, 80219
They have had many of their CVLT member inquire about the progress being made at The Acid Temple. As many of you may have seen, the equipment has arrived. They’re in the process of securing the oaken resting places for their beer. They’ve also been able to secure a significant amount of aged and de-bittered hops – the ale esotericists among you can probably guess what these will be used for. At this point they are awaiting the necessary permits from the city to begin construction, which they are hoping will be granted shortly. That is all they can reliably divulge at this time. Expect to hear more in the coming months. They thank you for your continued devotion to the Cvlt and look forward to continuing to be the soundtrack to your imbibing!
