Elevation Beer Company Official Brewery of Monarch Mountain
Earlier this morning our good friends over at Elevation Beer Company announced their partnership with local ski resort Monarch Mountain, also located in Chaffee County. Monarch will carry Elevation’s 8 Second Kölsch, First Cast IPA, Little Mo’ Porter (named after the run at Monarch Mountain) and a rotating Elevation handle all ski season and the two entities will also team up for a number of activities throughout Colorado, Texas and Arizona where Elevation is currently available for purchase.
“Elevation has been a close partner with us since they opened in 2012,” says Monarch Mountain CEO, Rich Moorhead, “Elevation is a best seller in our Sidewinder Saloon, and we’re excited to have Monarch’s closest brewery as a partner.”
During the two and a half years since Elevation’s founding, it has consistently drawn inspiration from the local Poncha Springs community and geography. 8 Second Kölsch was created for the local rodeo and named after the ability to stay on a bucking bull for 8 seconds and Engel Weisse brewed in honor of Mt. Shavano. Elevation’s beer lineup has also been labeled by the similar difficulty classification given to ski runs, with green being the tamest and most approachable beers they make, and double black diamonds being the more complex and usually barrel-aged beers.
In recognition of this gnarly partnership, we thought we’d provide a few more snow sport inspired names for future brews.
