Collaboration is all about sharing brewing experience and technique to join the perfect ingredients. Brewers come together to decide exactly what yeast to use with what fruit, what type of malt works best with what barrel, or what hops will contribute to the perfect aroma. Blood Orange Double IRA Release @ Black Shirt Brewing Co. (Five Points/RiNo Arts District)

This beer was brewed with Centennial and Cascade hops, dry-hopped with the same, conditioned on heaps of blood oranges, and then double dry-hopped with Mosaic. It’s beyond fantastic, its sublime! This beer was originally inspired by Denver band The Centennial, who will be releasing an album this summer as well as playing the beer garden (date TBD).

Saint Patrick’s passed their final inspections and has set the date for Thursday, March 5th for their soft opening at their new location in Littleton. They plan to have 17 beers on tap for their opening including: – Oktoberfest, Dubbel, Berry Chili, Limoncello, Russian Imperial Stout, Pumpkin Vanilla Chai, French Barleywine, Espresso Blonde, Imperial Helles, Belgian Quad Wit, Dry Hop Saison, Hawaiian Farmhouse, Coroni, Helledel Helles, Czech Pils, Luminosity Oak Reserve, and Midnight Mocha. No bombers to go, sorry.
Free Beer Tasting Thursdays: Anchorage Brewing Co @ Mr. B’s Wine & Spirits (Five Points)

Last Thursday Mr. B’s wrapped up their February tastings with Belgium vs. Germany. This Thursday they are kicking off March with an Anchorage Brewing Company (and actually….well, also Mikkeller, but they’ll get there) tasting!!! Man, March rules already! Anchorage Brewing Company, located in the tiny state of Alaska, is ‘Where brewing is an art and Brettanomyces is King!’ Founded by brewer Gabe Fletcher, Anchorage specializes in barrel fermentation with brettanomyces and souring cultures. Blurring the lines between new and old styles of beer and brewing procedures, they take extreme steps seeking to produces some of the most unique beers ever made. So, come out this Thursday between 4pm and 7pm to drink these delicious sour beers!
There is also this beer that is in a distinctly Anchorage style bottle, and yet with a distinctly Mikkeller label, that is the Invasion to this tasting: the first ever Mikkeller only brewed beer on American soil: Invasion IPA. This should be wild!!

This Friday TRVE’s very own Reed Wolf will be showing a collection of prints for their first ever art show from a staffer. For the last week or so, their tasting room has been undergoing a big remodeling. The work is now nearly complete and they plan to host a “Grand Re-Opening Party” on Saturday, March 7th starting at 11:30am. They now have 2 bathrooms, an expanded seating area and more taps! They will be doing $2 pints and $4 growlers fills (To Go only). Stop in, check out the new improvements, have some delicious food from Wheels On Fire food truck, and great beer! City Star’s 1st Bottle Release: Outlaw BA Imperial Stout @ City Star Brewing (Berthoud)

Warning: Outlaw on the Loose! Keep a look out for Outlaw, the first in City Star Brewing’s barrel aged series and the first City Star brew available in bottles. Outlaw will be released at the City Star taproom in Berthoud, Colorado on Saturday, March 7th. Outlaw weighs in at 13.25% alcohol by volume and has spent 1 year “doing time” in Breckenridge Whiskey barrels waiting for the chance to bust out. While incarcerated Outlaw mellowed nicely and includes flavors of dark chocolate, toffee, dark fruit, oak, vanilla, and of course American whiskey.
Outlaw is a rare limited release (only 970 bottles) specialty beer and the first City Star brew available in bottles. Each 22oz bottle has been sealed in red wax and individually numbered. Outlaw will be available for purchase exclusively in City Star Brewing’s taproom starting Saturday, March 7th at 12pm. Bottles will be sold for $18 each (plus tax) with a one case (12 bottles) limit per person. Catch this Outlaw before it escapes again and put it where it belongs… in your belly.

The WCBF was started with the goal of creating an event that would become a staple in the Boulder community for years to come that would benefit 30 to 50 local businesses all at once. The Boulder natives that started the event love the creativity and collaboration of the craft beer industry and love that so much is happening right here in our backyard. They also saw the need to celebrate these things at a great venue in the middle of winter when we all are looking for something fun to do. New Beer Bar and Beer Garden in Estes Park Opening this Spring @ The Barrel (Estes Park)

Soon residents and tourists visiting Estes Park, Colorado will be able to revel in the beautiful mountain views while enjoying some of the best craft beer in the State and around the Country as well as a few international selections. The vacant lot at 119 East Elkhorn Avenue will become the home of the first outdoor beer garden in downtown Estes Park in the interim of the Rocky Mountain Performing Arts Center development.
Opening Spring 2015, The Barrel, an outdoor beer garden, with sixty rotating taps will focus on craft beer, mead, cider, high-end distilled spirits and wines. The Barrel will offer guests a friendly, social atmosphere where they can catch up with old friends and meet new ones while loving some of the best Colorado has to offer.
