Alamo Drafthouse presents Ted Kotcheff’s genre-defining, free-wheelin’, gun-totin’, law-fightin’ post-ROCKY masterpiece. Sylvester Stallone plays Vietnam veteran and occupational vagabond John Rambo, just returned from war. Without a house or home to call his own, he wanders the streets until arriving at a seemingly unassuming, small logging town. Although the sign at the town entrance reads: “Welcome to Hope,” there is none to be found in the city limits, only misery and mistreatment from the local law enforcement. When they push Rambo out of town without realizing the consequence of their actions, he comes back with a signature, no-holds-barred brand of retribution. FIRST BLOOD is a brutal critique of America’s participation in Vietnam and an all-around action classic. (Sam Prime)

Raspberry Provincial Release @ Funkwerks (Fort Collins)
1900 E Lincoln Ave, Fort Collins, CO 80524
This delicious creation was truly a product of creativity, ingenuity and luck. In the summer of 2013, Funkwerks took a test batch of their Berliner Weisse style summer ale, Provincial, that didn’t quite hit gravity, and decided to have some fun with it! They added a heavy dose of raspberries to this sessionable, refreshingly tart beer. The end result was so delicious, they decided to recreate it! This delightfully tart fruit beer is stimulating and refreshing, with a citrusy raspberry aroma which transitions to a subtly sweet and tart finish.

Like Craft Brew? Like Barbeque? Want to explore RiNo, home to a host of breweries including Epic, Mockery, Crooked Stave, Our Mutual Friend, River North and the upcoming Great Divide campus? Then this is the group for you.
This group is open to men and women. The group will meet on a quarterly basis at Brew n Q, a homebrew and barbeque supply shop also located in the heart of the RiNo district. Each meeting will consist of two parts: an opening barbeque cooking basics discussion and creation of a generous taster of something cooked off the barbeque. Then the group will move to one of the nearby taprooms to enjoy a brew that is paired with what they just created. Once at the brewery, the group will talk with brewery staff, enjoy a brew tour and see how their barbeque pairs with the brewery’s beer.
The first event starts at Brew n Q where you’ll get an orientation to the brew shop and enjoy a discussion about how to make succulent, pulled pork sandwiches. Sandwiches will be generous, but taster-sized, and then you’ll take them over to Mockery Brewing to enjoy a brew tour and see how their beer pairs with the food.
Ticket prices are $20.00 and include a sandwich, barbeque discussion, and your first pint at Mockery, craft beer discussion and brewing tour, gratuity, tax and ticket processing charges. At the request of the homebrew shop, this event is also a fundraiser for ALS and $6.50 of each ticket will be donated to the non-profit. Tickets are available here.
