First Draft to Open in RiNo
Forget the phrase BYOB. It’s all about PYOB – pour your own booze. This is the mantra of First Draft, a new taproom and kitchen opening in the River North (RiNo) neighborhood in Denver.
First Draft will let their customers pour high quality craft beer, wine and cider at their own pace using the self-service technology iPourIt. iPourIt lets customers pour their own beer, with a valve controlling flow while also measuring the amount poured down to 1/10th of an ounce.
“We felt like Denver has a ton of breweries but not too many taprooms,” explained Mark Slattery, Owner and General Manager of First Draft. “We wanted to do something unique to get ourselves out there.”
It’s safe to say that First Draft succeeded in their goal. They have a 40 tap wall that consists of 34 craft beers, 4 wines and 2 ciders, all of which will have a pour-your-own component.
Hungry, too? You’re covered. First Draft’s kitchen will serve small plates and shareable items that pair with beverage offerings.
“We want our food to stand out as much as our beer,” said Slattery, who is in the midst of hiring on a full-time chef. “That’s a huge thing for us being in Denver, and being in RiNo.”
First Draft will be located at 1309 26th Street, near the corner of 26th and Larimer, a location that Slattery dubbed a “home-run” for First Draft.
Get ready for First Draft to open their doors in the late spring or early summer – and be sure to come hungry and thirsty.
