The hype over the visit of Pope Francis to the nation’s Capitol on Sept. 23 is steadily growing — or rather, brewing.
(Yes, a cheesy joke at which any kind Catholic aunt would giggle.)
To commensurate the visit and his address, the beer-focused restaurant, Brookland Pint, is offering a week of creative and delicious papal-inspired brews.
Brookland Pint is located steps from Catholic University’s campus, near the stunning Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception. The neighborhood, for years, was mostly brick row houses, residential units and not a standard destination for tourists (or residents, really).
But the neighborhood has kicked up a new life and Brookland Pint has played notable role, espousing environmental sustainability (local brews, local foods, composting and wind energy). It’s a fitting place to honor the pope with an incredible lineup of papal themed beers. Here’s their line up, kicking off Sept. 20:
