What We’re Drinking | April 8th, 2016
Hidey-ho, neighbors! How are we holdin’ up? I don’t know about you, but the world seemed a little off-kilter to me this week. Something in the stars, something in the water, I don’t know — whatever it is, strange things are happening, ya’ll. I feel some major ch-ch-ch CHANGES (I had to) coming on. We all know change can be super scary… but with change comes great opportunity, right? I say if things are feeling out of whack for you, go with it. Cut your hair! Adopt a dog! …Or try a new beer. Take a gander at what us PorchDrinkers have been sipping on and then go get yourself a delicious new bomber or two for the weekend.
Embrace the change. *clink*
Apricot Bu | de Garde Brewing
“Nice and crisp and easy to drink (not surprising being a session beer). The beer had a nice tartness to it, but it didn’t hide the apricot citrus notes to the beer. Many sour beers can be overly tart and you aren’t sure the flavor, this one you knew it was apricot or peaches.” — Chris Wallner
IPA | Finkel & Garf Brewing Co.
“Crushed some Finkel & Garf IPAs post-soccer yesterday. Great IPA to enjoy outdoors with citrus notes and a hop-forward and fruity taste.” — K.C. Cunilio
Transmigration of Souls | Orpheus Brewing
“Coming in strong at 10% – this double IPA is a heavy hitter with a balanced mix of hops and malt.” — Danele Bova
Nightmare Fuel | River North Brewery
“Enjoying this brew from River North in their new taproom! Celebrating their re-open with a couple of porch drinkers Kelissah and Kara. A very roasty and tasty stout to celebrate this lovely evening! And the taproom is gorgeous!” — Desiree Duzich
Tart N’ Juicy Sour IPA | Epic Brewing Co.
“This is great! A much juicier beer than the Utah Session Sour IPA. It’s has a nice hop bite as well. I cannot wait until the cans are available here. Cheers!” — Chris Hollands
Hoppy Blonde Ale | New Belgium Brewing
“MOSAIC! Hoppy and wicked sessionable. This full bodied brew boasts a solid backbone, while retaining a thin head with tiny bubbles that yield a bright bouquet of fruit.” — Cory Pelc
Blushing Monk | Founders Brewing Co.
“Sitting in Harry’s Hofbrau with Chris Day. This beer is like drinking melted cherry Jolly Ranchers (and it comes in at a lofty 9.2% ABV).” — Jasmin Hudacsek
