Moody Tongue Brewing Shaved Black Truffle Pilsner Returns December 2
Moody Tongue Brewing in Chicago, the brainchild of Jared Rouben, a graduate of both the Culinary Institute of America and Seibel, recently opened its new, cozy taproom on the city’s west side. With that opening, Moody can now provide its coveted Shaved Black Truffle Pilsner on draft – a sinful holiday beer treat for either the naughty or nice this year.
A more indulgent beer would be tough to find. This elevated pilsner includes premium Australian black truffles hand-shaved by brewmaster Jared Rouben. The German-style pilsner enjoys aromatics comprised of fresh black truffle and baked pear with subtle notes of toasted pilsner malt. The deeply rich flavor provides immense depth to an already well-crafted pilsner – a perfect marriage of traditional German brewing with one of the world’s most sought-after culinary ingredients.
In previous years, Shaved Black Truffle Pilsner was only available to the public through a lottery or at select restaurants. This year, the special brew will be offered at the Moody Tongue Brewing Tasting Room on a first come, first served basis. Guests will be able to enjoy the beer in a 5-ounce champagne flute for $20, while supplies last.
