Bitter Pops Releasing a Craft Beer Advent Calendar
Celebrate the days leading up to Christmas with the popular Advent Calendar available from Bitter Pops. Instead of a piece of chocolate, you’ll get a craft beer – 24 in all. Beers will range from local to national to international breweries.
The beers were selected with the season in mind, and all those that purchase will also receive a 10%-off coupon to select the 25th beer of their choosing.
Pre-orders run through the end of October with the box of beer costing $79.99 + tax. After October 31, the price will rise to $84.99 + tax. You can purchase by either going to Bitter Pops in person or ordering online.
FoBAB Kickoff Event at Lucky Dorr on November 8
Before one of the most anticipated beer events of the year, head to the Wrigley-adjacent Lucky Dorr on November 8 to kickoff the Festival of Wood and Barrel Aged Beers (FoBAB) weekend.
The event starts at 6pm, and all the beers on draft will be barrel-aged. A majority of taps will be Chicago or suburban breweries including Dovetail, Pipeworks, Half Acre and Burnt City.
On Tour Hosting Chili Cook-off for Bears vs. Packers
If you aren’t going to the showdown between the Bears and the Packers on November 12, head to On Tour for their chili cook-off. They are currently looking for entries. If you think you have the best chili, you can email communications@
If you don’t want to cook, but you’re great at tasting chili, you can purchase a wristband for $12 and sample all the chilis and receive an On Tour pint. All the proceeds go to benefit the Greater Chicago Food Depository.
The winner will be announced at the end of the game and will take home a 3 pack of 32 oz. crowlers, an On Tour sweatshirt and bragging rights.
