Streetside Brewery | #blessed NE IPA

Streetside Brewery | #blessed NE IPA
John Amantea

When you think of Ohio craft beer, much of the time you might think of the brewers up north in Cleveland — where Great Lakes, Fat Head’s, Platform and Thirsty Dog have cemented strong regional footholds. As industry in Ohio has exploded over the last couple of years, it’s the cities a few hours south that are truly beginning to make a statement in the beer scene. Few have ascended quite as quickly as The Queen City of Cincinnati. While big-name Rhinegeist has risen to notoriety more recently, a new crop of up-and-comers are emerging with a variety of great offerings. No brewery has embodied this growth more than Streetside Brewery.

Founded in 2016 by Cincy-born craft beer veteran Garrett Hickey, Streetside has pumped out unique brews that stay true to form, from the award-winning Raspberry Beret, a bright, bursting Berliner Weisse, to the eye-catching I Drink Your Milkshake! IPA which sports a purple hue. While some brews may be more avant-garde than others, the Streetside team produces beers that maintain the traditional characteristics of different styles.

ABV: 6.4%

This approach is truly evident in #blessed. This New England-style IPA is rich in stone fruit and tropical fruit flavors. Hazy gold with a medium head, #blessed drinks very well with a pleasing mouthfeel. Papaya is the prominent flavor with a pineapple bite to balance with a hoppy finish. Brewed with Australian Vic Secret and Citra hops, #blessed strikes an appealing balance of well-crafted flavor that shines throughout.

Currently, Streetside beers are only available in their taproom, but are certainly well worth the trip. While you’re there, you can get growlers or crowlers filled for enjoyment at home! Trust me. Every drop of their beer will make you feel #blessed!
