Civil Society Brewing | Fade Away
Porters are a favorite for many, and I recently tried one that tasted too good not to share with you all. Civil Society Brewing has a delicious porter that has been hopped with Chinook, Mosaic and Amarillo. Civil Society did not get their nationwide popularity based on porters, so I am happy to highlight Fade Away. This gem of an American Porter was released again last month with a one pack per person limit. Finally, a rotating beer made it back home to me. I could not wait to open one up, so I took the opportunity on a Fri-YAY (and also one of Florida’s lovely, random cooler days).
The pour immediately reveals a familiar, dark black color that goes along with this style of beer. The medium carbonation is super apparent, but expect to detect a flavorful amount of the aforementioned hops, which really make this Porter fun and refreshing. The velvety mouthfeel this American Porter leaves mid-way into the pint is never overwhelmed by the boozy undertones, making this enjoyable all the way until the end. The aroma is resinous, and the ABV is 7.5 percent, but the taste reflects more refreshment. Overall, you are in for a solid Porter that is enjoyable anywhere, but not at anytime: this is a rotating beer in Jupiter, Florida, so if you do get the chance to grab one, or four, it is worth it! Anything from Civil is really worth trying, and their tap room is always a good time too.
