For the past 21 years, Alamo Drafthouse has served as a pioneer in the cinema industry, pairing classic, contemporary and cult-following movie screenings, with sing-a-longs, themed event spectacles, a killer culinary program and elite level craft beer. Alamo Drafthouse has announced that it will open its third Colorado location in downtown Westminster, just 10 miles north of Denver.

The upcoming Westminster location slated to open in spring 2019, will house nine screens, all featuring laser projectors, including a large format “Alamo Big House” screen. The state-of-the-art facility will span 45,000 square feet with approximately 1000 seats, including luxury recliner chairs.

Alamo Drafthouse opened its first Colorado location in Littleton during spring 2013 and their Denver proper Sloan’s Lake location opened last May 2017. And like the two existing outposts, Westminster will house a full bar concept with an expansive draft line focusing on national and Colorado-local craft beer.

Over the past five years, Alamo has collaborated with the likes of Odell Brewing and Stone Brewing on beers for special film releases. Their beer program has also featured themed beer, food and film pairings, as well as special tap takeover events with PorchDrinking to celebrate events like the Great American Beer Festival, Collaboration Fest and Big Beers Belgians and Barleywines, to name a few.

The Westminster development will be part of a greater revitalization project that will include the opening of a 125 room new hotel concept from the Origin Hotel Collection. The new downtown Westminster will also include the development of a 1.2-acre space with a pavilion designed for outdoor programming, a fully-equipped fitness center, a new, independent restaurant concept, retail space and 3,000 square feet of meeting space.
