One day after the inauguration of President Joseph R. Biden, it should be expected that the internet would be filled with news about the incoming administration, but instead, Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders is “once again” Berning it down with memes.

Almost immediately after taking his socially-distanced lonesome seat at the inauguration, a masked image of the Senator made it’s way onto pop-culture references including Mall Rats, The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, Star Wars, Mean Girls, and locally in Colorado, in front of Casa Bonita and on a chairlift with a snowboard hanging at Winter Park. So it should come as no surprise that this morning, craft breweries, taprooms, and liquor stores across the country joined the fun by inserting Senator Sanders into their outdoor dining area, in line for a rare beer release, or behind the bar slinging beers to customers.

Last year, craft breweries joined the political conversation in a big way by taking on issues locally and nationally, having a huge impact on complex issues. This year, we expect that breweries will continue using their platform to further political discourse and we’re hopeful that dialog between political differences returns to civility. And perhaps, beer and politics is no longer a dirty sentence.
