Boys Are From Märzen Podcast | Gillian Larson Firestone Walker Ambassador
In Episode 30 of the “Boys Are From Märzen” podcast, Kindsey Bernhard is joined by Gillian Larson, a thru rider and adventure ambassador for Firestone Walker Brewing.
Larson has logged 10,000 backcountry miles with her two horses, including traveling three times from Mexico to Canada.
Gillian Larson began riding horses at the age of seven and never looked back. She became the youngest woman to solo thru-ride the Pacific Crest Trail, which stretches 2650 miles from Mexico to Canada in 2014. She completed the PCT again in 2016.
In 2018, Larson completed the Continental Divide Trail, another Mexico-to-Canada route, becoming the first person to thru-ride both the PCT and the CDT. She has also completed the Arizona Trail and the Colorado Trail.
Larson is one of Firestone Walker Brewing’s adventurer ambassadors. The partnership has allowed Larson to share her passion for thru-riding and the two animals that accompany her on the trails. Firestone and Larson released a short film on Larson and what life is like as a thru-rider.
In this episode, Kindsey and Gillian discuss her journeys on the Pacific Crest Trail and the Continental Divide Trail, training horses for these trails, her partnership with Firestone Walker Brewing and much more.
