2024 GABF Awards Results | Full Breakdown of GABF Winners

Highland Park Brewery GABF

The 2024 Great American Beer Festival stormed back in a big way from an attendee standpoint, as we noted earlier in our day one recap, in large part due to its experiential tweaks for festival-goers and the competition yielded impressive results as well.

In 2024, we saw nearly 9,200 beer entries judged across, 102 categories from 1838 breweries, resulting in 326 medals (including the Pro-Am Competition and the Collaboration Competition). It was also the inaugural year of including cider in the competition with 230 ciders judged.

Now, to the winners!

This year’s biggest winners include Highland Park Brewery with a total of four gold medals as well as the overaching Large Brewery Group and Brewer of the Year Honors. Apogee Brewing from Grover Beach, CA also took home four medals and earned the distinction of 0–250 Barrels Brewery and Brewer of the Year.

Sunriver Brewing GABF

Grand Fir Brewing from Portland, OR took home an impressive three medals along with the 501–1,000 Barrels Brewery and Brewer of the Year distinction. Riip Beer Co. from Huntington Beach, CA,  took home three medals as well with two gold and a silver, along with the 2001–5,000 Barrels Brewery and Brewer of the Year distinction. And finally Sunriver Brewery from Sunriver, OR also notched three medals along with the 5,001–15,000 Barrels Brewery and Brewer of the Year honors.

Morgan Territory also took home three medals in total, 10 Barrel Brewing earned a total of six medals across three of its locations, Pizza Port Brewing earned three among its three locations, Westbound & Down earned three medals across two locations as well a fourth, for their recently acquired Aspen Brewing location. Green Cheek notched three medals across three locations, and Breakside Brewery also took home three medals across its three locations

Devils Backbone GABF

California’s Figueroa Mountain Brewing now has a 14-year winning streak of continuous years with GABF medal wins with a pair of silver medals this year. And Colorado’s Cannonball Creek continues its 12-year medal streak, officially the longest active streak for a brewery that has won medals every year since opening. This year, Cannonball Creek the Golden, CO-based brewery earned a gold medal for More than a Zealand in the New Zealand India Pale Ale category as well as a silver medal for Featherweight in the American Pale Ale category, the fifth time that beer has medaled at GABF.

California led the pack with 69 total medals, with Colorado coming in second with 38 medals, and Oregon had the third-best outing with 34 medals.
