Odds are that sometimes you just want a quiet place for a few beers or to grab some food. Maybe you tried to call a few spots, or Googled the venue to try and gather some intel about how busy it was at that time. Enter the WhereT app. Developed around the foundation of venue transparency, Brandon Lewis created the app as a remedy for the time lost and potential revenue lost for businesses. Lewis, who currently resides in Raleigh, NC, also partnered with Lonerider Brewery to create Busy Brew Lager. This beer was created exclusively for the WhereT app and is the only beer that truly works for you.

We took time to chat with Lewis, discussing his vision for WhereT and his successes with the social app. We even got to crack open a Busy Brew and taste the beer helping people people KNOW before they GO.

Where To?

Brandon Lewis developed WhereT (pronounced Where To?) in 2022, a project in the works for 3 years before its release. Early research for the app showed that over 70% of people took an average of 15-20 minutes to decide where to eat, with another 15% taking at least 20 minutes and sometimes up to an hour. This socially-powered app is designed to equip its users with next-level insight into their favorite venue. These features include current AND forecasted guest traffic and unique promotional offers. Not only that, but it also supports integrations with rideshare apps, online ordering/reservation platforms and more. But it doesn’t stop there; WhereT isn’t just limited to bars, restaurants and clubs. You can also receive real-time data about retail vendors like grocery stores and department stores, or even government buildings like the DMV. The possibilities are nearly endless.

While optimized for all ages, the app has favored the 19-35 demographic due to higher overall usage of the mobile apps that form the pillars of WhereT. As of 2024, the app is available in 177 countries, with the top 3 active user regions being the U.S., Canada, and Europe. Within the U.S., North Carolina, Virginia and New York see the highest traffic.

Lewis and the WhereT team have over 20 partners that they’ve collaborated with and/or hosted events at since their launch. One of these partners includes Lonerider Brewery, who helped create a beer to uniquely market the increasingly popular social app.

The Brewery

Raleigh, NC’s Lonerider Brewery opened its doors in 2009, since establishing itself as one of the top 150 breweries in the USA. Their diverse portfolio of beers has taken home countless accolades, including medals from the Great American Beer Festival. We’ve even showcased a few of their beers on PorchDrinking: For a Few Hops More, Sundance and Sweet Josie Brown. Lonerider prides themselves on crafting all of their beers with the highest quality ingredients. They are constantly fueled by their community of craft beer “outlaws”, forever enthusiastic and supportive of their small passion project.

With a team so supportive and thankful for the community they’ve built, a partnership with WhereT was the perfect fit.

The official WhereT-affiliated light lager was crafted for every palate, meant to pair well with any crowd. It quickly resonated with the local brewery and bar scene and has easily been WhereT’s most popular marketing campaign to-date. The label for Busy Brew, designed by Lonerider’s Creative Director Jeff Winstead, also incorporates a unique QR code, which allows you to directly download the WhereT app.

The most recent pre-order for Busy Brew was posted on October 3. That said, be sure to follow @busybrewlager to get the most up-to-date announcements on when and how you can get some for yourself!

Lewis was generous enough to send a box full of Busy Brews to PorchDrinking to taste through and share. A huge thank you to him and his team for allowing us to use our platform to share both this beer and the app with our followers.

The Review

Busy Brew boasts a golden hue with frothy, inviting white head that lingers, lightly lacing the glass.

It opens with the gentle aroma of corn grits and sweet malt, a nostalgic nod to the classic lager but with a fresh twist. Whispers of pale bitterness peek through on the nose, keeping things balanced.

On the palate, it’s all about approachability—this is an easy-drinker in the best way. A sweet, malty backbone bolstered by flaked corn gives it a subtly full mouthfeel, making each sip a bit richer than you’d expect from its light appearance. It’s undoubtedly crushable, but don’t mistake that for lack of character. Busy Brew finishes clean and crisp, leaving just enough malt sweetness behind to keep you reaching for more.

Perfect for any occasion, this lager’s smooth, slightly heavier profile brings depth without weighing you down. Think of it as the reliable friend who’s up for anything, whether you’re toasting to good news or simply unwinding after a long day.
