After trying to retire after a lucrative two-year career in sports journalism, Mike got back into sports but in the administration side. He currently works for the Northwestern University Athletic Department as an account executive working directly with football and men's basketball. At Miami University Mike was the sports editor for the The Miami Student and also did radio play-by-play for RedHawk ice hockey, football and baseball. Embrace MLB Instant Replay – It’s Here to Stay

Ah, baseball is back. I love America’s pastime. From the crack of the bat to the pop of the mitt to the stoppage in play because of an official review – baseball is great. For the first time ever instant replay is being used throughout MLB stadiums and everyone has their own opinion on whether it’s good for the game. While there have to be some tweaks to the system, and players will have to change the way they play the game in some instances, I think instant replay is a great thing for baseball and will only improve.

Have you heard? There is only one unbeaten team left in Division-I men’s basketball this season. It’s the mighty Wichita State Shockers from the Missouri Valley Conference. The Shockers have been dominant this season. They rolled through their non-conference schedule and have had little resistance during their conference slate. They are currently ranked #2 in the country. If they keep this up they will most likely earn a #1 seed in the NCAA Tournament. But despite their ranking and all of these wins, I’m not sold on the Shockers just yet.
Five Winter Olympic Sports That Scare Me To Death

I know I might draw some ire right off the bat with this statement, but I think the Winter Olympics are more exciting to watch than the Summer Olympics. There are so many more obscure and untraditional events during the winter that you only see once every four years.
