Why I Will Not Wait in Line for Beer
March 28, 2017 | Danele Bova 3Feature photo credit: Russian River Brewing Co.
First off, let me preface by saying, I do not judge those who choose to wait. There is a level of admiration I have for those who make that tumultuous trek to a tiny, or huge, brewery in the middle of nowhere to wait in line for hours upon hours for their favorite golden nectar. If you honestly enjoy this beer geek rite-of-passage, who am I to tell you otherwise? I, on the other hand, have never waited in line for a beer release and I have no plans to do so in the future. I will never taste Pliny the Younger, and I’m completely okay with that.

What We’re Drinking | February 10, 2017
February 10, 2017 | Danele BovaThis week was full of ups and downs. Super Bowl 51 saw a huge upset by the Patriots who achieved a comeback over the Falcons (some celebrated, many did not.) Lady Gaga put on a kickass halftime show, but left her political side at home (or did she?) Beyonce broke the internet with her pregnancy announcement (the queen is having twins!) And the American public continues to flail about as the political atmosphere remains heavy and foreboding.

What We’re Drinking | January 27, 2017
January 27, 2017 | Danele Bova“Studies that we’re aware of show that 63% of craft beer drinkers yearn for the days when Big Beer was great. The craft beer “revolution” is nothing more than a conspiracy to devalue the quality product that our fine American brewers have been creating for decades.” — #AlternativeFacts
These, however, are not Alternative Facts. This is What We’re Drinking this week.

December 16, 2016 | Danele BovaEach year, December signifies the end of a chapter. People tend to reflect on what has happened over the past 12 months, and how they plan to change for the upcoming new year. But here at PorchDrinking we like to reflect back each week on What We’re Drinking.
What We’re Drinking | December 2, 2016
December 2, 2016 | Danele BovaIt’s officially the season. You know, the one where people like to say things in archaic phrases such as “‘Tis the season.” And even though it’s still 80 degrees in the southeast right now, christmas trees and lights have adorned the neighborhoods. The cold outside may help create a sense of the season for some people, but the warmth outside won’t stop us from feeling the holiday spirit. This week we tip back our glasses as we welcome the final month of 2016. This is What We’re Drinking.
What We’re Drinking | November 18, 2016
November 18, 2016 | Danele BovaWe at PorchDrinking are equally opportunity drinkers. We believe in all beers, because #beerlivesmatter. We believe that no one style should dominate an entire season. We welcome all styles into our hearts and mouths, year around!
Okay, okay, you get it. It’s basically Thanksgiving and we’re not obsessing over pumpkin spice ales… yet. Check out What We’re Drinking this week.
