Bell’s Brewery | Two Hearted Ale
July 5, 2017 | Johnathan PylantABV: 7% | IBU: 55
For most new to beer, and a sizable number of those well-versed in the various styles beer has to offer, trying an IPA is like sneaking a swig of your dad’s whiskey after everyone has gone to bed. It is an unpleasant rite of passage into the craft beer world that I, simply put, did not agree with. There was too much out there to enjoy without forcing myself to drink something I didn’t enjoy. Second Life Brewing Co. Debuts The AfterLife Series
April 1, 2017 | Johnathan PylantSecond Life Brewing Co. has created a new program to help send off your loved ones in a very special way. Jon Draugr, founder and owner of Second Life Brewing Co. said, “We were sitting around having drinks after my great-aunt died about eight months ago and we got to talking about different funeral traditions. You know, Viking burials at sea, Egyptian mummies, spreading ashes at sea, and that is when it hit us, almost all at once. What if we brewed a beer specially made for the family? This wouldn’t be any beer though, no! This would be a beer brewed with the deceased’s ashes sprinkled in.”

January 27, 2017 | Johnathan PylantThe Georgia Craft Brewers Guild issued a statement yesterday saying that the 2017 General Assembly of Georgia will “consider legislation to allow consumers to purchase beer directly at the brewery that makes it”. At long last, Creature Comforts Brewing Co. is making its move to expand into an additional facility in 2017 with the purpose of raising production (and possibly its footprint) in 2018. This news follows two years of steady growth as one of America’s fastest growing breweries and a zealous commitment to raise $100,000 for local community organizations. The Unknown Brewing Co. | Vehopciraptor Triple IPA
November 4, 2016 | Johnathan Pylant 1Only weeks ago, The Unknown Brewing Co. released Vehopciraptor, a triple IPA straight out of the Cretaceous Period. This is the third time the Charlotte, North Carolina based brewery has released Vehopciraptor into the wild, but the first time it has done so as a 90 IBU triple IPA. One of The Unknown Brewing Co.’s most popular beers, with good reason, it is so incredibly well-balanced, yet bold, that some of us wondered if its really even a triple IPA.
The Unknown Brewing Co. | Bright Ass Tank Top Gose
September 14, 2016 | Johnathan PylantIn another week, The Unknown Brewing Co. is shipping Bright Ass Tank Top to distributors. I can’t help but think this 4.1% ABV Key lime gose is an ode to the fleeting summer. In a preemptive response to the question of “what’s with the name?”, Andrea Glagow, marketing manager for The Unknown Brewing Co., wrote “… no reason. It’s the end of summer. Rock it until the end. Sun’s out, Gun’s out.”
