March 15, 2024 | Karen MillsIt’s almost that time of the year again! The time to celebrate the art of collaboration at the highly anticipated Collaboration Fest. Hosted by the Colorado Brewers Guild, this unique festival features local and national breweries coming together to collaborate on distinctly unique beers made specifically for the festival. FIRST LOOK | 4 Noses Brewing Opens Park Hill Location
October 16, 2023 | Karen MillsFor many breweries making the leap from producing 1,000 barrels a year to 5,000 barrels a year is a formidable task, but taking that leap from producing 5,000 barrels a year to 10,000 and maintaining that production is an accomplishment few are able to achieve.
In Colorado, breweries like New Belgium, Odell, Oskar Blues, Left Hand, SKA Brewing, Avery Brewing, Upslope, and Great Divide have served as pioneers for the next generation of craft beer fans by scaling to become national brands. And while the craft beer landscape certainly looks different than it did ten years ago, a new wave of Colorado breweries including the likes of WeldWerks, Denver Beer Company, and now 4 Noses Brewing are looking primed to usher in a new era of Colorado breweries that could make a splash across the national market.
The opening of 4 Noses Brewing Company Park Hill marks yet another exciting milestone in the brewery’s methodical, yet strategic growth over the past nine years. 4 Noses Brewing Company first burst onto the scene when it opened its doors in Broomfield, CO in May 2014. Throughout the first six years of operation, 4 Noses built a sterling reputation for executing at a high level across a wide range of styles. However the burgeoning young brewery made it’s next big leap with the opening of Wild Provisions Beer Project in Boulder, CO in June 2020, focusing on mixed culture and wild fermentation beers as well as Czech-style Lagers. Shortly thereafter, 4 Noses would form 4N Holding as a parent company and acquire Lafayette’s Odd13 Brewing in November 2021. Now armed with three successful and distinctly unique brands under its belt, 4 Noses is prepped to embark on it’s next big step forward with the opening 4 Noses Brewing Company Park Hill at 4040 Dahlia Street.

Book Review | Hawai’i Beer: A History of Brewing in Paradise
April 5, 2021 | Karen MillsCraft beer in Hawaii didn’t have much of a presence, arguably, until a decade or so ago. Being located so far off from the mainland creates a longer and more costly process in getting brewery equipment and ingredients to the island. While it seems that in the more recent years, many craft breweries have been popping up. However, it doesn’t mean that craft beer didn’t have a presence in the Aloha State until then. Paul Kan dives into Hawaii’s rich history in beer and brewing in his soon-to-be-released book, “Hawai’i Beer: A History of Brewing in Paradise.”
4 Noses Brewing Co. | Großer Arber German-Style Dunkel

Uhl’s Brewing Company Keeps Cranking Out Beer From New Facility
April 23, 2020 | Karen MillsUhl’s Brewing Company opened its doors of its new Boulder tasting room on Saturday, March 14, the weekend before Colorado Governor Jared Polis enacted the state’s shelter-in-place order in response to COVID-19.
Uhl’s opening came as the pandemic began to unfold, but it hasn’t stopped Aaron Uhl—founder, owner, head brewer, quality control manager, lead sales rep, delivery guy, and basically any other role you can think of—from looking ahead and adapting to these new obstacles. For the past couple of years, Uhl has been “gypsy brewing” (his term), and having worn so many hats in his operation, he’s handling each challenge as it comes his way, without pause.

Despite the Festival’s Cancellation, Collaboration Fest Beers Now Available to the Public
April 3, 2020 | Karen MillsA few weeks ago, the Colorado Brewers Guild (CBG) had to make the difficult decision to cancel this year’s Collaboration Fest due to the developing COVID-19 pandemic and concerns over public health and safety. This would have been CBG’s seventh annual event and was originally created as an opportunity to bring together breweries and the collaborative spirit. It was a difficult decision for them because over the years, it became one of their largest fundraising efforts.

COVID-19 Closures | Ways to Support Your Local Colorado Breweries During the 30* Day Closures
March 18, 2020 | Karen Mills 10As new developments arise and things are changing as it seems almost by the hour during the COVID-19 pandemic, it may be tough to keep up with which breweries are still open; in what format they are open in, if they have certain limitations (depending on the state that you’re in), and so on. The underlying factor remains the same: everyone is affected in one way or another by the growing pandemic, but we all love the craft beer community and want to find ways to continue to support one another.
Supporting Local Breweries in the Midst of COVID-19 Mandated Closures
March 17, 2020 | Karen MillsWhat a time it is right now. The Brewers Association announced last Thursday they’ll be cancelling CBC 2020 and that was followed shortly by the Colorado Brewers Guild announcing the suspension of this year’s Collaboration Fest. The craft beer community has been diligent about updating procedures and staying on top of these changes that need to be implemented. Although it’s unclear the full impact of how COVID-19 will be affecting breweries, they’ve responded by continuing to announce temporary closures, event cancellations, or sharing their processes to help protect their employees and patrons. With the recent announcements from California, Illinois, Ohio, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minneapolis, Pennsylvania, and now all of Colorado asking for bar closures, which includes breweries and taprooms, we want to share ways you can continue to support your local breweries with these changes, while still being mindful of public health safety.

Over the summer, you can camp, hike, and enjoy so many various outdoor activities. Whatever the reason may be that brings you to the mountains, there’s one activity that you can enjoy across the board: visiting breweries! We’ve rounded up this Ultimate 6er of Colorado mountain town breweries that you can’t miss!
Beers to Get Over Your Ex
February 11, 2020 | Karen MillsValentine’s Day is right around the corner. The day can open up old wounds or make fresh ones sting a bit more when it’s a fresh heartbreak; you might even be cheers-ing to the end of a toxic and draining relationship. Regardless of the situation, having a beer in hand or a stocked fridge might help take the edge off.* Although I am personally in a relationship, I was curious to see what others would want to have on-hand, so I’ve rounded up some beers for anyone who is trying to get over an ex… or simply wants to make their Valentine’s date a frosty beer.
