February 11, 2022 | Danielle EngelWith somehow only a year without San Francisco Beer Week, this weekend marks its comeback. February 11-20 brings with it 10 days of beer fests, brewery activities, and beer releases. Although the usual grand, almost 150-brewery attended, gala that usually kicks off the week has had to be altered, it’s good to see that such an anticipated yearly event has returned.

After two years of cancellations, postponements, limited capacity events, and worse… the dreaded virtual fest, we are entering 2022 cautiously optimistic about the year ahead. With hopes of herd immunity coming sooner rather than later, we’ve got our fingers crossed that beer festivals are all returning to normal soon.
While most beer festivals are still taking extra precautions for this year’s events, several of them have already begun announcing dates. To help you keep track of the best and brightest beer festivals to mark on your calendars, we’ll be continuously updating our list of the best can’t miss beer festivals for 2022. Goldspot Brewing Celebrates 7 Year Anniversary This Weekend
February 4, 2022 | Tristan ChanDespite the sheer multitude of breweries that now make up Denver’s elite-level craft beer scene, it might be surprising to find that a majority of the 80+ breweries found in the Denver metro area have only been around for five years or less. All of that is to say that Denver’s Goldspot Brewing has a lot to celebrate this weekend as it commemorates its seventh anniversary with a weekend of special collaboration releases.

February 2, 2022 | Korey DavidOn Saturday, January 22, the Winter Brew Fest at Mile High Station kicked off the new year with a bang as the first official beer festival of the year in Denver. Attendees enjoyed over 100 beers, hard kombuchas, hard seltzers, and spirits to sample over day and evening sessions.

The brainchild of Will Golden, Director of Brewing Operations and Co-founder of Austin Beerworks and Chris Gomez, Owner of Kaiju Cut & Sew, the event brought together several local businesses, with hundreds of Austinites in attendance to show their support and get a taste of this very special beer.
Telluride Blues & Brews Festival Revamps with New Brewers Showcase
January 26, 2022 | Brian PhippsThe Telluride Blues & Brews Festival is changing its beer programming in a big way for 2022. This year, the festival is holding five different sessions and a more intimate experience with its new Brewers Showcase. Guests can speak with breweries and try a variety of new, classic, and rare craft beers in each different session. In previous years, the Saturday of the festival featured one session known as the Grand Tasting.
As of now, the Telluride Blues & Brews Festival is planned for Friday, September 16 to Sunday, September 18, 2022.

FoBAB | 2021 Festival of Wood and Barrel-Aged Beer Awards

After a pandemic-induced hiatus in 2020, the Festival of Wood and Barrel-Aged Beer (FoBAB) returned in 2021, although the masks and vaccination requirements offer a stark reminder that things aren’t quite back to normal. And that’s what made every sip of every strong barrel-aged beer, fruited sour or wild ale even more enjoyable. The awards ceremony returned, too (not streamed). We are happy to provide you a recap of the 2021 FoBAB Awards. Congrats to Charlotte’s Resident Culture Brewing for winning Best in Show, and to Chicago’s Revolution Brewing for winning the Runner Up award.
The Craft Beer Marketing Awards Enters Its Third Season
November 4, 2021 | Jereme ZimmermanThe Craft Beer Marketing Awards (CBMA) will be holding its third year of competition in 2022. The first ceremony was held in 2020, but had to go fully virtual due to global COVID-19 shutdowns. Although this timing was unfortunate, it went over extremely well, so the CBMA was held as a hybrid ceremony in 2021, where more than 195 awards were presented. The plan is to hold a fully in-person awards ceremony (with a virtual feed) during the week of the May 2022 Craft Brewers Conference in Minneapolis.

November 1, 2021 | Ruvani de Silva 1The Texas Craft Brewers Guild hosted its annual festival at Austin’s Fiesta Gardens on Saturday, October 23. After the festival pivoted to an online event last November, brewers and consumers were eager to return in person to this tremendously popular celebration of all things Texas beer, with over 85 breweries from across the state serving up over 200 beers to thirsty visitors. Both VIP and General Admission tickets sold out in advance, signaling the excitement for the first major Texas beer festival since Covid restrictions lifted.
