September 13, 2022 | Britt AntleyThis year on the Friday of GABF week, Denver Rare Beer Tasting will celebrate its 13th anniversary with 60 breweries pouring some of their rarest and most sought-after beers. The event taking place, Friday, October 7 from 12-4pm once again benefits Pints for Prostates, a grassroots organization with the aim to raise awareness among men about prostate cancer and the importance of early detection in fighting the disease. This event “gives us the opportunity to reach men through the universal language of beer with an important health message,” said Rick Lyke, founder of Pints for Prostates. As always free men’s health screenings will be offered at the event, and all proceeds will be used to provide screenings for thousands of men, giving them important health data and early warnings about potential prostate cancer, heart disease, diabetes and other common male health issues.
Beer Industry Workers Find Community Through Craft Beer Professionals Group
September 2, 2022 | Tristan ChanFor an industry so tightly built around togetherness and community, the pandemic could have easily crippled many aspects that came to define the very fabric of craft beer. But the digital age has helped us to adapt quickly and for one online beer community, it was the perfect opportunity to serve as a resource for togetherness at a time when connecting in person was prohibited.
PorchDrinking 10th Anniversary Beer Festival Tickets On Sale Now
August 30, 2022 | Tristan ChanIt seems like just yesterday that a small group of friends was gathered around a wooden porch bench, sharing beers and listening to The Lumineers right before their first album release. This memory took place at a special moment in time when there were less than 1000 breweries in existence in the United States, but those that did exist laid the groundwork for a greater sense of community and camaraderie that would transcend all other industries. It was this idyllic sense of togetherness that propelled us to start a beer publication focused on promoting positivity and great storytelling.

August 11, 2022 | Tristan ChanWhile we’ve all likely grown accustomed to big over-the-top beer festivals that bring out some of the industry’s biggest names and most hyped beers, the truth is that the wine industry tends to go even harder. Event Recap | Session Beer Fest 2022
July 26, 2022 | Danielle EngelThe Bay Area is known for its temperate climate; this past Saturday, it delivered. People enjoyed a gorgeous sunny day as they meandered through Snow Park, which sits adjacent to Lake Merrit. The chilled attitudes and low ABVs at Session Beer Fest 2022 all added up to a laid-back event that felt more like hanging out at one’s favorite beer garden rather than an organized beer festival. It’s one of the aspects that Lauren Young Mortensen, Marketing and Events Manager of Drake’s Brewing, loves about this event.
“Session Fest is a celebration of delicious low ABV beers, amazing people, and the good vibes that come with them. I love this festival because you can join in as new or seasoned drinker to experience amazing local craft beer, and inevitably contribute to the energy that is Session Fest. With an ABV cap of 5% or less, this fest shifts the focus from “what’s your highest ABV?” to amazing flavor and brewing talent.” As their motto says, Less is More.
Rabid Brewing & Bean to Barstool | Crown of Horns
July 22, 2022 | Mathew PowersHomewood, Illinois’ Rabid Brewing has combined quality beer production with a love of mythology since 2017, and a celebration of that time will arrive Saturday, July 22 with its Feast of the Goat Queen festival. Among the beers that will be released is a chocolate beer as part of a collaborative effort between Rabid and Bean to Barstool, run by the award-winning writer and podcaster, David Nilsen. Meanwhile, the festival, a “Fest for Fae Folk,” is perfect for those that to like to dawn some horns, honor their Roman gods, pet some goats, listen to live music, check out some artists, and otherwise have some fun.
Get Discounted Tickets to the 2022 Denver Burger Battle
July 22, 2022 | Tristan ChanOver the last decade, the American craft beer movement brought innovation and experimentation to an entirely new level, by rewriting our definition of what beer is and can be. Much like beer drinkers have refused to accept the status quo, American foodies have also proven to share a similar hunger for more inventive, experimental versions of their familiar staples. And no event better exemplifies that evolution of tastes quite like the Denver Burger Battle.
Event Preview | Session Fest 2022
July 21, 2022 | Danielle EngelIt’s been three years since Drake’s Brewing Co. has been able to throw their summer classic with Bike East Bay. But Session Fest is finally back for its eighth year, this Saturday. With no beer over 5% being poured, it is meant to be an easy going afternoon where you get to sample the lower-end ABVs that breweries have to offer. Hopefully, this makes for hangover-free Sunday the next day.

Recapping the Best of the Best from 2022 WeldWerks Invitational
June 30, 2022 | Jaclyn MenendezThere are few things better than an unseasonably cool day in the middle of Colorado’s scorching summer. In fact, only one thing better comes to mind: the divine providence of a barrel-aged-centric beer festival like the 2022 WeldWerks Invitational falling that day.
After two years of COVID postponements, a crowd of excited festival-goers stretched around the block eagerly awaiting the opportunity to hit their favorites early. The WeldWerks team was once able to quickly usher folks in within minutes welcoming craft-beer enthusiasts from across the country flocking to Greeley, CO to enjoy a much-needed return to normalcy. It felt more like a family reunion than a line for a beer festival as drinking buddies met up with their out-of-state friends, some for the first time in years.
Once the doors opened, though, it definitely felt like a beer festival.

June 10, 2022 | Tristan ChanThere are only a handful of beer festivals in the state of Colorado that have developed the kind of reputation which would compel breweries to jockey for a spot to pour the moment registration opens. The Lake Dillon Beer Festival is one of those destination festivals.
