West Sixth Brewing | Illuminator Barrel Aged Doppelbock

In 2019, Kentucky’s West Sixth Brewing and Louisville distiller Angel’s Envy teamed up to brew a series of bourbon barrel-aged beers. Among the beers brewed for this project is the Illuminator Barrel Aged Doppelbock. This German-style lager is aged in Angel’s Envy barrels and finished in port wine barrels, giving it notes of caramel, bread crust and dark fruits.

V.S.O.J. Once Again Shines in Revolution’s Summer Deep Wood Release

When Revolution Brewing opens its doors to the public Friday to launch the latest batch of Deep Wood beers, it will be the first no-restrictions in-person beer release event in the city of Chicago since the pandemic began.

A staple of previous Revolution beer releases, the taproom party featured drafts of the beers being released as well as some rare and special drafts for people to try. Over the past year and a half, the brewery had to settle for curbside pick-ups as the pandemic restrictions remained in effect.

Campaign Launched to Make the Kentucky Common the Official Beer of Kentucky

A campaign has been launched to make the Kentucky Common the official beer of the state of Kentucky. Michael Moeller, co-founder of Louisville Ale Trail, sent a request to Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear’s office to consider naming the Kentucky Common the official beer style of Kentucky through executive order.

Kentucky has a state flower, a state tree, a state mammal, a state horse, a state food, a state dance, and many more state insignias. It’s time to add a state beer to the list.

Nestled in the foothills of Boulder, CO, the tiny town of Nederland is more than 8,000 feet above sea level. The winding road into town is about 16 miles of pure straight up, twisting through the mountains, running parallel to a roaring creek, making you feel closer to the sky than the ground. Brouwerij 3 Fonteinen | Intens Rood

A decade ago, in the early days of the ISO:FT message boards, 3 Fonteinen beers were the kids wearing pink on Wednesdays and making “fetch” happen. High bounties were paid for a Hommage, Framboos, or a rare Zenne y Frontera, with airline luggage fees serving as the general mode of transportation for this precious cargo.

Thanks to a huge increase in production and distribution, 3F beers are no longer the Charizard foil cards they once were. While this provides that constant IV drip of Oude Guezes, it also means that we get a few other Lambic oddities, such as the Intens Rood. Read More
