Ultimate 6er | Wes Anderson Films
April 20, 2016 | Holly GerardAh, Wes Anderson. One of today’s most sought after millennial cult following movie directors out there. With so many great classics, sadly this 6er does not include every movie of his with a pairing, but if you’re going to have a movie marathon make sure to also check out Grand Budapest Hotel and Fantastic Mr. Fox! Ultimate 6er | Record Store Day Beer Pairings
April 13, 2016 | Courtney AllenIt’s hard to distill all of the best records down to just a few select picks, but we’ve got six here that pair perfectly with some of our favorite beers. Grab a glass and take a listen. Read More
Ultimate 6er | New England IPA Series
April 13, 2016 | Gregory AceroEver since I started my craft beer journey, IPAs have been my absolute favorite style of beer to drink. In the past, anytime that I thought or drank IPAs all I thought about were West Coast IPA’s – Russian River Brewing Co., Stone Brewing, 21st Amendment Brewery, Firestone Walker Brewing Company, etc. But this past year I have learned that the West Coast IPAs have to make room for the East Coast IPAs. I’m talking about New England IPAs! Read More
Ultimate 6er | Parks & Recreation
April 6, 2016 | Hannah CarlsonOK, I admit it. I’m a little late getting on the Parks & Recreation train – but thanks to an obsessed roommate, recent downtime, and my Netflix account, I can now confidently say that I am a fan. A big fan. In fact, one of my most recent life goals is to be more like Leslie Knope.
When brainstorming for this week’s Ultimate 6er, I couldn’t help but pair some of my favorite brews with the lovable, relatable, hysterical Pawnee Parks crew. Let’s take some of our original favorites from the NBC hit comedy and give them some deserving beer, shall we? We hope that these will be a good fit for a picnic in the park sometime soon. Read More
Ultimate 6er | Bud Light A-Rita Series
April 1, 2016 | Brady Akers 2Are you able to use “bro” at least four times in every sentence? Do you consider articles from The Chive “classic literature”? If so, I’m sure you remember the classic Bud Light slogan “The perfect beer for removing ‘no’ from your vocabulary for the night”, but did you know that Bud Light’s Rita series can make saying ‘no’ even easier?
Ultimate 6er | What to Drink While Filing Your Taxes
March 30, 2016 | Chris PowellA new year brings hope for prosperity and change. It is also the season of the 1040, 1099, W-2, and countless other federal tax forms. While we are all familiar with the painful process of filling out tax papers, it may surprise you to know the nefarious reason we pay federal income tax.
Ultimate 6er | Ultimate Sweet 6(teen)er
March 23, 2016 | Brad HartsockI must admit I’m writing this with slightly less enthusiasm than my 2015 write up celebrating the teams that survived the first weekend of the NCAA Tournament. Sadly (at least … Read More
Ultimate 6er | Best Beers For Spring
March 23, 2016 | Mark ElliotSpring. Robins return to your lawn. Daffodils and tulips bloom. The air turns warm, the days get longer, the outdoor day drinking turns to outdoor night drinking, and your car goes from midnight black to pollen yellow. OK – so maybe not all things about spring are fantastic. But think about letting your beer follow in your paint job’s footsteps and go from dark to light as well. Spring is the perfect time to wind down the stouts, porters, and winter warmers, and increase the hops, the sour funk, and the fruit. Read More
Ultimate 6er | The People v. O.J. Simpson
March 16, 2016 | Cecelia KathleenIf you haven’t been watching the television remake of the 1995 O.J. Simpson murder trial, The People vs. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story, get on it! This ten episode FX … Read More
Ultimate 6er | Social Media Networks
March 9, 2016 | Mike ZollerAre there two things bigger right now than social media and craft beer? Just about everyone is on social media in some way or another and the craft beer industry is seeing a new brewery open up seemingly every week. For this week’s Ultimate 6er I paired six of the most popular social media networks with a beer that I think it best represents.
Ultimate 6er | Ale Industries
March 2, 2016 | Victoria PrattTucked away in a historic part of Oakland, Ale Industries carefully crafts their wonderfully fun and inventive beers. The brewery, which happens to be the oldest and largest Oakland has to offer, has a taproom named: the Jingletown Jazz Room. If the Jazz Room had a day job, it would obviously be a brewery, but it does have another occupation. On the second Friday of every month, the Jingletown Jazz Room really lets its hair down and hosts local artists and musicians.

Ultimate 6er | The 88th Academy Awards
February 17, 2016 | Scott Johnson

Out of all the great events in February, The Academy Awards always stand out as the true final hurrah for the previous year. It’s easy to get caught up in the fervor of the Oscars similar to that of the Super Bowl, rooting for your favorite films while trying to guess the odds between critical vs. commercial praise. And if you are in a movie league like I am, or if you were just one of 36+ Million Viewers from last year, there’s got to be plenty of beer flowing from both sides of the screen.

Wait, am I forgetting something? Oh right, VALENTINE’S DAY. To commemorate Valentine’s Day, the divisive love-it or loath-it Hallmark holiday, here are six beer-infused Colorado and Oregon chocolate creations that, like a special Valentine, will always be there when you need them. Ultimate 6er | Making A Murderer
February 3, 2016 | Lindsay KrumelMaking A Murderer mania – it’s sweeping the nation. Despite being released almost two months ago, the American public is still clamoring for anything and everything regarding the case. My Facebook feed is filled with articles reviewing the facts, and two new specials, Dateline on NBC and Steven Avery: Innocent or Guilty on Investigation Discovery, aired this past weekend. So to add to the fervor, I bring you a Making A Murderer Ultimate 6er, filled with beers from The Badger State representing some of the biggest players in the series. Read More

Ultimate 6er | Best Beers for a Winter Storm
January 22, 2016 | Mark Elliot
I suppose there is a chance you live under a rock, or a chance that you’ve avoided the plethora of weather apps on your smartphone. Maybe you’ve given up completely on TV meteorologists. But, SURPRISE, it’s winter, and there is going to be snow. (I know. It comes as a shock every year).
Some of you may actually see a lot of snow this weekend; maybe even enough to keep you inside for a day or two. Instead of issuing what meteorologists jokingly call a “French Toast Warning” — that’s when everyone rushes to the store in a panic and pillages the bread, milk and egg aisles — let’s stock up on the real essentials. This is your Ultimate 6er of the best craft beer to drink while you watch the snowflakes pile up outside. Read More
Ultimate 6er | Colorado Ski Mountain and Beer Pairing
January 20, 2016 | Cecelia Kathleen
Winter in Colorado means trips up I-70 to your favorite ski mountain. After a long day on the mountain, nothing helps you relax and unwind more than a cold beverage, preferably a crisp and refreshing brewski (see what I did there?). This Ultimate 6er pairs six Colorado ski destinations with six delicious beers. Now, I could have taken the easy route by pairing mountains with their (awesome) local breweries. However, I wanted to get a little more creative instead, so I looked into certain resorts’ nicknames, runs, and mountains to really give PorchDrinkers six special pairings. Read More
