Also, breweries generally don’t serve mixed drinks, have a full kitchen, smoke their own BBQ meats and serve 12 beers brewed on site. But the aptly named A Bit Twisted Brewpub boldly mixes all these elements. Owners Matt Vargocko (from Texas), Mike Richie (from Colorado) and Brandon Foreman (also from Texas) love to twist the standard narrative. Over 65 Colorado Breweries Creating Benefit Beer Colorado Strong IPA

During the initial phases of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, the Colorado Brewers Guild (CBG) and the Left Hand Brewing Foundation joined forces to raise funds for the Colorado craft brewing industry by creating a benefit beer, Colorado Strong. For 2021, Colorado Strong returns as an India Pale Ale where proceeds will go towards the Colorado chapter of the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) as well as the CBG in support of membership fees and other CBG programs.

Picture it: Salt Lake City, September 1989. The lights of Utah’s Broadway just got a whole lot brighter. On Sept. 5 of that year, Squatters Craft Beers opened its doors at 147 W. Broadway to become the capital city’s first brewpub. More than three decades later, the pub that ignited Salt Lake’s craft beer revolution is reflecting on its roots.
147 West Broadway Hop, a West Coast-style IPA, is the first in Squatters’ new series of rotating IPAs designed to celebrate the city’s now-booming beer community.

The stark reality of the ongoing pandemic continues to unfold each and every day. For the craft beer industry, the ripple effects of shutting down taprooms for months at a time, applying for government loans, reinventing business models and health and safety practices on the fly, pivoting as a result of aluminum can shortages, and now staffing shortages have left many breweries of all sizes is dire situations. And now it seems, that even one of Colorado’s more successful growing breweries has made the difficult decision to sell.
