New Belgium Brewing Interview | The Carbon Neutral Toolkit
September 7, 2021 | Brian PhippsOne year after making Fat Tire the first certified carbon neutral beer in the United States, New Belgium Brewing is releasing a Carbon Neutral Toolkit, available on their website, DrinkSustainably.com. With the toolkit, breweries can educate themselves on climate change, learn what outputs they need to track and use the toolkit’s spreadsheet for recording. Additionally, in April, New Belgium released Torched Earth Ale, a beer made of ingredients they believed “would be available in a climate-ravage future.”
Over Yonder Brewing Co. | D6 IPA
September 7, 2021 | Seth Garland 1Over Yonder Brewing Co. in Golden, CO recently celebrated their first and second anniversary this year. The brewery had one big, mega-bash to make up for lost time over the lockdown in 2020. As a brewery that feeds off music and crowd energy almost as much as they do creating new beers, it’s been an exciting 2021.
Part of their efforts to welcome back music includes live streaming Phish shows on the big screen with Paige McConnell banging away on the D6 clavinet during some of the slinkier Phish grooves (e.g. Sand, Moma Dance, etc.). This is where Over Yonder came up with the name of their fan (and brewer) favorite beer, D6 IPA.

August 25, 2021 | Jaclyn MenendezHey, remember a couple of months ago when I confidently, naively announced that the WeldWerks Invitational was definitely happening this October? But alas, they live on, and I’m sad to tell you that due to rapidly rising COVID cases, the WeldWerks Invitational 2021 has been postponed until 2022.
Brewery Showcase | Stodgy Brewing Co.
August 25, 2021 | Darren Cockrell 1Nestled in Northwest Fort Collins, CO stands an innocuous wooden building with a lush garden encompassing it, and a quaint wooden sign that reads “Stodgy Brewing Co.” Since their original opening in September of 2020, they have gained a respectable following in their local community, despite opening in the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic. What was their secret to success during a time when so many other breweries were closing? One visit was all it took for us to see: Stodgy Brewing provides a home-away-from-home feeling that is downright comforting.

Peak View Brewing | Tiramisu Stout
August 18, 2021 | Lindsay SimpsonPeak View Brewing in Greenwood Village, Colorado, was founded just two years ago, but the ideas of this brewery have a longer history. The founders, Sean Peters and Justen Coulfal, not only share a history of military service, but also a love of craft beer. Their shared dream of opening a brewery has been realized with a large variety of beers on tap to offer to their customers. Outer Range Brewing Co. | Pop Top NEIPA
August 16, 2021 | Dane SkousenSince 2016, Outer Range Brewing has been a consistent and popular spot for thirsty travelers passing through Frisco, Colorado looking for Belgian and IPA options. As an unashamed-to-admit hazy IPA fanboy (yes, we even have groups!), Outer Range was always on my radar when perusing the massive craft beer selections, especially in Denver. While I appreciate a brewery that can knock out a “one-hit wonder” beer, my admiration goes to breweries that make each beer a winner; that is rare, even in the secluded world of hazy IPAs. Outer Range Pop Top is one of those beers, an exemplary tropical hazy IPA with the uniquely engineered Cryo Pop Original Blend, which maximizes hop aromatics.

Red Leg Brewing Co. Opens New Facility
August 12, 2021 | Lindsay SimpsonThe community needed it. That’s the overwhelming reaction to Red Leg Brewing Co.’s new facility at 2323 Gardens of the Gods Rd. in Colorado Springs, CO. To say that people are raving is an understatement. The new facility has been highly anticipated since they announced the plans in December 2019. It took longer than expected, but it’s every bit worth the wait. This facility was built from the ground up specifically for Red Leg with plans to be a space “where community and culture meet”, says Todd Baldwin, President and Founder of Red Leg Brewing Co.
