5 Questions with Rick Lyke on the Cancellation of Denver Rare Beer Tasting XIII
August 9, 2021 | Tristan ChanWith just a little over a month until the Craft Brewers Conference returns to Denver, CO, this year’s conference is already starting to look a whole lot different than in years past. Having hosted CBC twice already in the past decade, the Mile High City is already buzzing in anticipation, with a multitude of events, special tappings, and releases already announced.
Jade Mountain Brewing Co. | Silk Road Rice IPA
August 4, 2021 | Nathan JahnsIt’s been almost two months since the grand opening of Jade Mountain Brewing Co. and business couldn’t be better. Brewing craft beer, tea and in-between (i.e. hard tea), Sean Guerrero, the owner and head brewer, has a beverage suited for anyone who walks through the door. He uses exotic (dragonfruit, sichuan chili, jasmine flowers) and modern (Colorado yeast and malt) ingredients brewed to taste, with less focus on adhering to a specific beer style, resulting in beer inviting to all customers regardless of beer knowledge or snobbery. Add to this the beautifully curated traditional Asian tea house aesthetic of the taproom, and it’s clear that Guerrero meticulously planned every step of his business venture to create a unique, delicious, and welcoming establishment where traditional meets modern. See our brewery showcase for more info! Read More
Grab Discounted Tickets for This Week’s Denver Burger Battle
August 2, 2021 | Tristan ChanLong before the recent rise in craft, the pairing of burgers and beers were synonymous in a way that has come to define summer grilling, baseball games, and the American way. But as modern tastes have evolved past well-done chargrilled hockey pucks and watered down cheap light lagers, the beer and burger pairings have only evolved in more brilliant and decadent ways.

What We’re Drinking | July 23, 2021
July 23, 2021 | Brandon CohranHoly hell. It’s really about to be August. We have one week of “summer” left, even though I personally feel like that shortens every year. We’re over halfway through the calendar and baseball season, too. School is upon us and fall sports are about to be king. It won’t take long, but the holidays are not too far off, and this year, we should be able to celebrate even more compared to last. I hope you’ve got a little time to slow down and take it easy, but if you’re still busy looking for a new beer to try, here is What We’re Drinking. Read More
Ultimate 6er | Must-Try Denver Beers
July 21, 2021 | Emma WargoletRecently, I was able to leave the Midwest for the first time in 15 months and head on over to Denver. Considering the last time I went, I hit up 11 breweries in two and a half days, I was looking forward to seeing what damage I could do in five and a half. While it was difficult, I whittled six of my favorite beers from six of the breweries I visited during my trip!
Denver Beer Co. NFT Release Grants Owner “Beer for Life”
July 20, 2021 | David ThompsonHow much would you pay to drink for free, for the rest of your life, at your favorite Craft Brewery? It’s a question that was answered by one Denver Beer Co. enthusiast when he won the auction for the “Beer for Life” NFT recently for 4.33 of the Cryptocurrency Ethereum (roughly $9,200 USD at the time of purchase).
“We like to play on the edge of the news and be fresh and try new things,” says Denver Beer Co.’s Co-Founder Charlie Berger. “We had to learn about NFT’s. Not many people knew about them nine months ago. We really just wanted to just try it, and we wanted to learn about it by creating it.”
Knotted Root Brewing Co. | Fat and Sassy
July 19, 2021 | Darren CockrellIn an age when beer names and labels are hyper-marketed to consumers, trying to find unique ways for them to say “pick me!” from behind the cooler door, could there possibly be anything more cerebral than slapping a screen print from your favorite internet meme onto a can and being the hippest beer on the shelf? Knotted Root Brewing Co. in Nederland, Colorado, astounded again with their unfiltered triple dry hopped double IPA, “Fat and Sassy” by being heady, hoppy and oh-so hip. Read More

With the MLB All-Star Game festivities having been in Denver the past few days, we’ve gotten to see a substantial amount of traffic going through our local breweries, as baseball fans flocked to Denver. We even had some breweries creating some baseball-themed beers, like Denver Beer Co., which released Big League Sticky since we last talked. Let’s keep the fun going this weekend by showing some love to your favorite local breweries!
Knotted Root Brewing Celebrates Second Anniversary On Top Of The World
July 13, 2021 | Jaclyn MenendezNestled in the foothills of Boulder, CO, the tiny town of Nederland is more than 8,000 feet above sea level. The winding road into town is about 16 miles of pure straight up, twisting through the mountains, running parallel to a roaring creek, making you feel closer to the sky than the ground. It’s fitting, then, that Knotted Root Brewing Company has made its home here. At its second-year anniversary party (which occurred this past Fourth of July weekend), it was tough to imagine any other brewery feeling more on top of the world.
Lost Friend Brewing Co. | Turbo Kolsch

Guess what’s happening this weekend! It’s the 4th of July… wait did you cheat and read that on the title? Either way, it’s going to be a great weekend of drinking beer, grilling and possibly lighting off some fireworks. Be careful though, I like fireworks as much as the next person, but you don’t want to be that guy that ends up starting a wildfire. So get out there this weekend and have some fun, without burning down the state, that is.
Oni | New Hokkaido
July 1, 2021 | Justin PennelNew Hokkaido might be a new brewery name for many, so allow me to make the introduction. New Hokkaido is a phantom brewery based out of Mountains Walking in Bozeman, Montana. The brewery integrates Japanese culture into their label designs, beer names and how they brew. They also incorporate rice into all of their beers.
Troubadour Maltings Brings Craft Ideas to All Stages of Brewing
June 29, 2021 | Darren Cockrell 1Craft beer enthusiasts are never short on things to say about the beer they are drinking. Whether it’s praise for their favorite under-the-radar brewer, an ode to the specific blend of hops used in their favorite IPA or their witty tasting notes to be added to their Untapped, there are a myriad of details to discuss when talking about craft beer. With this in mind, beer enthusiasts often overlook one of the most core components: malt. Read More
