14er Brewing Company | Rocky Mountain Saison
November 28, 2016 | Dan Olds 1ABV: 5% | IBU: 29
As a natural born citizen of Colorado, I am one of the few who has never left (or plan on leaving) this wonderful state. From hiking, tailgating at a football game, or munching down at my favorite Denver Mexican restaurant, I have cemented myself into the thriving Denver culture. All these can of course be enjoyed while drinking a cool refreshing craft beer. Recently I was introduced to one Denver’s newest craft breweries, 14er Brewing. My reward for climbing a Colorado 14er is to drink a beer at the top from an environmentally friendly crushable can, so just hearing the name immediately caught my attention.

Mother Road Brewing Co. | Tower Station IPA
November 25, 2016 | SimonABV: 7.3% | IBU: 70
I am stepping out of my usual domain a bit here, but a recent trip to Arizona required I write about an Arizona beer. In the week we spent between Scottsdale, Sedona and Flagstaff I was extremely surprised to see how much the beer scene had grown. Scottsdale and the entire Phoenix area had a tom of new breweries. Arizona Wilderness stood out and is worthy of its own article, however I was even more surprised to see what was brewing in Flagstaff. My favorite brewery in town was Mother Road Brewing Co.

That said, our staff was treated to a sneak peek of this year’s lineup and all indications are that BCBS is back in a big way.

There’s nothing wrong with that; these beers have their place in my belly and my heart. But, there’s only so much gourd one man can consume. If only there were a pumpkin-free beer built for the fall. Enter: Renegade Brewing Company’s Pancakes Maple Porter.

It’s Halloween, Samhain, All Hallows Eve and the time marking the end of the harvest season and the beginning of winter or the “darker half” of the year. When the veil between the worlds is thin, we attempt to travel between those worlds. The easiest way to travel between those worlds is time travel (we haven’t figured this one out yet, you?!) OR travel by way of partying down in celebration. We have a few celebrations you may want to get out to to see if time travel is possible!

Epic Brewing Company | Oak & Orchard: Syrah
October 26, 2016 | Brady AkersI remember attending the celebration for Epic Brewing‘s first dive into sours in June 2015, including waxing my own bottle of Sour Brainless on Peaches, free peach ice cream and even fire-roasted peaches. The beer was worth the hype and I was immediately excited to see how this souring program would grow.
