Copper Kettle Brewing Announces Rebranded, Greener Cans
August 8, 2023 | Scott Grossman 1In what’s hopefully the start of a trend for small craft breweries, Denver’s Copper Kettle Brewing announced a switch to environmentally friendly printed cans for its flagship beers. Earlier this year we talked with head brewer Greg Moore about barriers to greener packaging. Since then, Copper Kettle has worked diligently to find a option that’s easily recyclable, cost-effective and actually easier on the production line. Read More
Collaborating for a Cause | Kidd Beer
August 7, 2023 | Eric GriffinAlex Kidd and his family have been incredibly humbled by the support they continue to receive from the Beer Community. With this installment, Collaborating for a Cause is highlighting HOMES Brewery, a small but progressive program out of Ann Arbor, MI. Maybe most famously known in recent years for Smooj, their line of all natural fruited seltzers, they also boast a varied and impressive portfolio of uniquely nuanced traditional beer styles. For their ode to Alex Kidd in support of his fight with cancer, they knew they had to go big. We had the chance to chat briefly with Nick Panchamé, Head Brewer at HOMES, about this recent charitable effort and how Alex was able to inspire the amazing gesture. Enter KIDD BEER.

August 4, 2023 | Emma WargoletA new brewery opening up is always a cause for celebration. A new brewery that focuses on farmhouse traditions and the owners are alumni of Roaring Table Brewing Co? You cannot get this city woman out to the suburbs fast enough. Sundial Brewing & Blending opened up in July of 2023 in Barrington, Illinois (about an hour drive from Chicago… with no traffic*) after many years of homebrewing, and the expertise shows.

WIN TICKETS | Avery Brewing Marks 30th Anniversary with Return to Festival Glory
July 26, 2023 | Tristan ChanBefore hard seltzers and Hazy IPAs, before Collaboration Fest and the WeldWerks Invitational, heck before even WeldWerks and Casey Brewing and Blending, Colorado’s craft beer scene looked a whole lot different. But in many ways, the evolution of today’s beer landscape can be traced back to a simpler time when many early adopters gathered over sweet potato tots paired with hoppy, sour, and big barrel-aged beers in an unassuming, industrial, Boulder alleyway.
This weekend one of Colorado’s craft beer pioneers, Avery Brewing Company will celebrate its 30th anniversary with an invitational-style beer festival reminiscent of the extravagant festivals it helped popularize during its heyday. Originators of iconic events like the Avery Strong Ale Fest, IPA Fest, Sour Festival, and earlier renditions of the Avery Anniversary Festival, the Boulder-based brewery brought a level of pomp, circumstance, and excitement each and every time.

2 Days 2 Nights | Art, Craft & History in Cheyenne
July 21, 2023 | Amber LebermanAlthough Cheyenne, Wyoming, is just over the border from Colorado’s Front Range craft brewing epicenter, it also seems just off-the-map. But with four breweries and a distillery, all fiercely independent yet committed to the craft community, it’s worth pinning as a road trip destination for any beer or spirits enthusiast.
Barrel Room Spotlight | Moksa Brewing
July 19, 2023 | Eric GriffinIt’s been long overdue to have another brewery join us in the Spotlight. So without further ado, enter Moksa Brewing Company out of Rocklin, CA. Established in 2017 and opening their doors in 2018, Moksa is another very young brewery that has had a lot of success in a very short period of time. Seeking to showcase beer and brewing as its own unique art form, Moksa has never hesitated to push the boundaries. We had the privilege of chatting with Head Brewer Cory Meyer, focusing on the growth and successes of their barrel program, some of the ins-and-outs of their processes, and their hopes for the future.
Barrel Theory Beer Company | Beer with the Brewer
July 18, 2023 | Jack BatemanIt’s rare to find a brewery that can pump out so many different styles, and do it well. When you do though, it is one of the best feelings.
In the Twin Cities, that brewery is Barrel Theory Beer Company. Located in the heart of downtown St. Paul, Minnesota, it has spent the last six years brewing spectacular beers of all varieties, from crispy Pilsners to decadent Imperial Stouts, with a knack for making Hazy IPAs. It’s been doing it humbly, making the brewery somewhat of a hidden gem. Until now.
Collaborating for a Cause | Ancient Otter Treats
July 17, 2023 | Eric GriffinThe continued outpouring of support for Alex Kidd and his family in the wake of his devastating Stage IV cancer diagnosis has been nothing short of incredible. This series began with Horus Aged Ale’s Stay Strong Alex collaboration, and is continuing this week with Forager Brewery’s special release of Ancient Otter Treats in support of the man behind Don’t Drink Beer.
5 Questions with Novel Strand Brewing to Celebrate 5 Year Anniversary
July 14, 2023 | Tristan ChanDenver’s Broadway brewery landscape has certainly seen its share of change over the past five years. The recent departure of formative wild and spontaneous ales producer, Black Project, a shorter stint from Alternation Brewing, and the upcoming closure of chica producer, Dos Luces, along with the recent sale of Baere Brewing, has certainly shaken things up. However, the recent additions of Public Offering, Ratio’s Overland location, Denver Beer Co’s Rosedale location, and Sunroom Brewing in Englewood have helped to inject new life.

Real Wild & Woodsy Festival | Flagstaff, Arizona
July 11, 2023 | Ruvani de Silva 2For lovers of mixed culture, foeder-conditioned, funky and barrel-aged beers, the Real Wild & Woodsy Festival really is the Teddy Bears’ (or should that be Teddy Beers’?) Picnic of festivals. Held just outside the center of Flagstaff at the Arizona Historical Society’s Pioneer Museum for the first time this year, the festival feels like a secret garden party.
