What We’re Drinking | May 3, 2019
May 3, 2019 | Pam CatoeBetween avoiding spoilers for Game of Thrones and Avengers Endgame, and then being stressed out watching the battle scenes in both movies, (assuming you could see the Battle of Winterfell), it’s been one exausting week. Hopefully you have recovered from both and another weekend is upon us. Here is an impressive lineup of craft beers to try courtesy of your PorchDrinking team in this week’s What We’re Drinking.
JuicyBrews West Fest Brought Out the Rarities Over 420 Weekend
April 24, 2019 | Danielle EngelApril 20th started out overcast and gloomy in Oakland, CA. With a chilly wind blowing off the Bay, it didn’t seem like the sun was going to come out to … Read More
The Weekly Buzz | September 21 – 27
September 28, 2018 | Dan BortzAnother GABF has come and gone, and I spent the entire weekend working overtime and organizing my new house. I barely even drank. It was such a waste of my time and energy. On the bright side, I’m only seven days away from having a day off (followed by six more days of work). Until then, I’ll have to live vicariously through “Beer Twitter.” Good thing that never gets toxic! Anyhoo… here’s The Weekly Buzz!

Alvarado Street Brewery | CollaBEERation Four Way Juicy IPA
March 23, 2018 | Constance Del RioMove over Ménage à Trois, it’s all about the Four Way now. Alvarado Street Brewing collaborated with Hop Dogma Brewing Co., Humble Sea Brewing Co. and Discretion Brewing to create a four- way collaboration IPA for Beer THIRTY‘s 4th birthday celebration. Only 100 cases were released on March 7 at Alvarado Street, and then were sent up to Beer THIRTY on March 9 for the birthday bash!! As if this brew wasn’t enough, Beer THIRTY had sweet glassware to go along with it at the party.
A Beer Insider’s Road Trip Guide to Northern California
February 12, 2018 | AlewiseFor most, the foray into the world of beer trading is swiftly met with an introduction to the secondary value world, as that perceived value tends to drive the trading market. Fortunately, there are still areas free from the shackles of “me first” mindset. Luckily, through my own beer journey, I’ve been fortunate enough to find a small group that acts as a family. While the group mostly allows us to maintain connections online and send each other beers as presents, surprises, and BIFs (beer it forward, essentially chain mail but with beer as presents); recently I have focused my domestic travels on meeting these people in person. With SF Beer Week in progress and more than a half dozen faces I had yet to meet in person, I “sailed off for the San Francisco Bay”.

Alvarado Street Brewing | Local Shred Red
January 19, 2018 | Constance Del RioLiving in the Bay Area has some huge perks if you are into craft beer, which let’s be honest – if you are reading this you probably are. I live in San Leandro, and a ton of amazing breweries are anywhere from 10 minutes (I am crazy close to Drake’s Brewing & Cleophus Quealy Beer Co) to a few hours away, like Alvarado Street Brewery out of Monterey, California. Grab your board and prepare to shred, brah.
What We’re Drinking | October 27, 2017
October 27, 2017 | Dan BortzOnce upon a time, there was an intrepid fellowship of PorchDrinkers. They had to destroy a ring in a volcano (or something like that), but they could only truly break the ring’s evil curse if they drank every craft beer in America. What follows is an account of the battles they have fought and won during the past week. Fear not, dear readers, our heroes WILL complete their quest to free the world from its horrifying sobriety. This is What We’re Drinking.

What We’re Drinking | October 20, 2017
October 20, 2017 | Constance Del RioIt’s been a crazy couple weeks here in the Bay Area. The North Bay is on fire, taking so many people’s livelihoods, homes, and wineries, and now Santa Cruz is on fire. Our air quality was on par with Beijing! Not to mention some people took advantage of the fires and looted, so not okay. This week the air quality has gotten back to tolerable levels and the relief efforts have been amazing to see roll in. Lots of Bay Area Breweries and Tap rooms held fundraisers for different funds! Take a load off and take a look at What We’re Drinking!
