Green Mountain Beer Company | Barrel Aged Grand Cru
July 31, 2020 | Andrew HolcombeGreen Mountain Beer Company approaches traditional beer styles with a little creativity and flair. As their motto says, they focus on “Old World Brews with Colorado Soul.” While Green Mountain offers newer styles of beer, including their very popular Kama Citra IPA, the focus on traditional German and Belgian styles like Hefeweizen, Pilsner, Tripel and Saison is where Brian Milhaupt and Cassidy Hill, co-founders of Green Mountain Beer Company, find their passion and vision.
The Bruery | Black Tuesday Imperial Stout
July 30, 2020 | Loren WhiteWith what seems like a never-ending supply of new exciting beers coming out these days, it’s not uncommon to see a beer that was a whale just six or seven years ago now sitting on the shelf collecting dust. So when you come across a beer that has been able to generate the same high level of enthusiasm from ever-fickle craft beer fans AND sells out immediately year after year, you know you have discovered something truly exceptional. The Bruery’s Black Tuesday Imperial Stout is such a beer.
First released over a decade ago, in 2009, Black Tuesday continues to enjoy a near cult-like following in many craft beer circles. It is currently ranked 17th on Beer Advocate’s list of best American Imperial Stouts and 62nd for all around best beer.

What We’re Drinking | February 21, 2020
February 21, 2020 | Justin CarterThe 21st of February doesn’t have a whole lot of significance to many compared to last week’s Valentine’s Day. The 21st is National Caregiver Day, National Sticky Bun Day, and the oh-so-awesome National Grain-Free Day. Grain-free doesn’t much work for beer but that’s okay. There are plenty of other grainless fermented beverages, like cider, wine and hard seltzer. So while you might decide to go grain-free today, here are some (probably better) beverages you could have enjoyed instead:

Olde Hickory Brewery | Flanders Red
January 31, 2020 | Christopher HilliardBeer hunting is most fun when digging up long-forgotten, buried treasure. Recently, I had the pleasure of discovering Olde Hickory’s Flanders Red Ale. This beauty was aged for 30 months—a full two-and-a-half years!—in bourbon barrels before bottling on Halloween 2016. I found it in late 2019, hiding in plain sight on the shelf at Carrboro Beverage Company. That means this Bad Larry was aging for more than five years before I picked it up. Today, I have the pleasure of sharing it with you, our lovely PorchDrinking readers. Read More
