Ellis Island Casino & Brewery
February 4, 2015 | Andrew SharpLas Vegas is synonymous with excess. Strolling around the Bellagio or trendy new Cosmopolitan, it is all too common to see a Chinese businessman with stacks of strangely colored chips at the baccarat table, or a hip-hop star and their entourage with an endless stream of overpriced bottles of vodka and champagne in the VIP area of an equally overpriced club. This is one of the attractions of Vegas. This and the scantily clad waitstaff, ready to bring a seemingly never-ending supply of drinks for as long as you’re willing to keep gambling.

Jackalope Brewing
July 29, 2013 | Liz Riggs“Put out good beer; everybody likes you,” Bailey Spaulding, co-owner of Jackalope Brewing, told me as we pick at the pieces of some saran-wrapped cheese from The Bloomy Rind.

Trillium Brewery
April 4, 2013 | Gabe Bellegard BastosBeers of Boston – Trillium and me, the new guys.
I thought it would be fitting, given that it’s the spring and this is my first feature, to write about a new brewery. So, on what seems to be the first pleasant Friday afternoon of the year, my girlfriend Clare and I head on an “adventure” to Fort Point’s Trillium, the first brewery to open in “Boston proper” since Jamaica Plain’s Boston Beer Company, the makers of Sam Adam’s.
Mountain Sun Brewing’s Stout Month
January 30, 2013 | Tristan Chan 2Mountain Sun Brewing’s Stout Month is coming. And as the immortal Samuel L. Jackson once said, “Hold on to your butts.” Every year, amidst the cold bitter winter months shines a beacon of hope and happiness. This year marks the 20th anniversary of Stout Month for the Mountain Sun family and it promises to be bigger, bolder and more stout than ever (see what I did there?)
