Holidaily Brewing Colorado’s 100% Gluten-Free Brewery Turns One
February 3, 2017 | Chris WallnerPhoto Credit: Holidaily Brewing Co.
Gluten-free – trendy, healthy, high maintenance or life altering. Those are just some of the reactions you might receive when you ask people what they think about gluten-free. In truth, those two words evoke vastly different reactions from just about everyone. For Karen Hertz, gluten-free became part of her life during a treatment plan as she battled and beat melanoma in 2007 and then both papillary thyroid cancer and Hashimoto’s thyroiditis, an autoimmune disease, in 2008. After beating cancer twice Karen developed a passion for health and happiness. This centered around gluten-free options, but there weren’t many out there in the world of beer. Read More

Odyssey Beerwerks | Oh Snap!
January 3, 2017 | Holly PriestleyABV: 6.4% | IBU: 20
The end of the year brings holidays, reflections about the year behind us, plans for the year ahead and some of the best seasonal brews around. In the northern hemisphere, this coincides with winter, darker days, colder temperatures and snow (usually). Lights go up on houses, relatives come down to visit and there’s little doubt you’ll make it to at least one brewery to while away the hours in avoidance of going to the mall to pick up that one last gift for the second uncle of your mom’s cousin thrice removed. Similar smells of cinnamon, pine trees and allspice waft out of stores and restaurants and even your neighborhood brewery.

12 Beers of Christmas | Vision Quest Brewery | The Magical Liopleurodon
December 15, 2016 | Cecelia Kathleen7.0% ABV
Who doesn’t love a good holiday beer?! For myself specifically, I look for something either reminiscent of hot cocoa or coffee this time of the year. I want a drink that makes me feel like I could hold it close, like a recently opened present, while sitting in front of the fire surrounded by loved ones, (who are obviously all in matching pajamas) on Christmas morning. Yes, my holiday beer must be a brew with cozy flavors I can sip slowly, while watching my younger sister Jamie unwrap the EXACT Furby that I wanted (no, wait, sorry that was in 1998).

They have now created an event that will satisfy anyone who falls anywhere on the Venn diagram between culinary pro and beer fanatic with their Thali Beer Dinners, the first of which will take place Tuesday, December 13 at the Yak & Yeti Arvada Brewpub.
Denver Beer Co. | Drama Queen Saison Aged in Wine Barrels
December 8, 2016 | Jared HardyABV: 8.3%
I don’t mean to be dramatic, but I think they’ve named this beer wrong. With a name like, “Drama Queen”, you’d expect this 8.3% barrel-aged saison to be too boozy, quick to fly off the handle with overly pronounced flavors. No, she is far too balanced to be called a drama queen.

New Belgium Dayblazer Taking on Big Beer and Introducing New Beer Lineup
December 7, 2016 | Tristan ChanAs we’ve seen over the past three years, the likes of Constellation, North American Breweries, Heineken USA, Duvel Moortgat, Oskar Blues, Craft Beer Alliance, Kirin, along with countless other brewery conglomerates and private equity firms, have all joined the craft beer arms race, stockpiling their craft brewery portfolios in hopes of taking a crack at the monopolistic market share held by AB InBev and MillerCoors. However New Belgium Brewing, the country’s fourth largest independently owned craft brewery is taking aim at big beer via a different approach with the release of New Belgium Dayblazer Easygoing Ale.
