Ultimate 6er | Surviving the Snow Days
December 6, 2016 | Andrew SharpThe snow is falling in parts of the country. While some states have yet to see its first flurries, others got over 20 inches of snow over night this month. Before the snow piles so high we give up and resign ourselves to the couch, filling our days with binge watching Netflix, we’d like to offer a few choices for provisions to stock up on. Better prepared than sober, I say.

14er Brewing Company | Rocky Mountain Saison
November 28, 2016 | Dan Olds 1ABV: 5% | IBU: 29
As a natural born citizen of Colorado, I am one of the few who has never left (or plan on leaving) this wonderful state. From hiking, tailgating at a football game, or munching down at my favorite Denver Mexican restaurant, I have cemented myself into the thriving Denver culture. All these can of course be enjoyed while drinking a cool refreshing craft beer. Recently I was introduced to one Denver’s newest craft breweries, 14er Brewing. My reward for climbing a Colorado 14er is to drink a beer at the top from an environmentally friendly crushable can, so just hearing the name immediately caught my attention.

It’s almost that time of the year when you get to gather around friends and family willingly or unwillingly to stuff your face with a weeks worth of food. If you are need of a beer or three to help ease the pain or to enjoy with friends and family be sure to check out our list of beers to pair with your Thanksgiving meal.
(More: 6 Beers to Pair with Your Thanksgiving Meal)
It’s also that time of the year when hordes of people will make the pilgrimage out to shop on Black Friday. Instead of fighting through thousands of people to get that 4k TV or Bourbon County beer that you gotta have, shop online, opt for an adventure outside, or even better check out one of the many Black Friday beer events going on around the Denver metro area. My good friend Cory has put together a sick list of all the happenings around Denver as well as be sure to check out the calendar of other events going on this week including the grand opening of Green Mountain Beer Company.

November 22, 2016 | Mathew PowersFrom IPA to BBA, craft beer continues to evolve, and Colorado’s Avery Brewing is unafraid to ride that wave of transformation and help influence its direction. In 2017, Avery Brewing will offer fans far more fermented pleasures from its Botanicals & Barrels series, as well as a add to its year-round selections. While that is exciting news for many fans of Avery, it comes with a price — a few long time favorites will have to be retired.

Renegade Brewing Company | Pancakes Maple Porter
October 28, 2016 | Jared HardyABV: 6%
Every year around mid-September the leaves start to change color, the air gets a crisp nip, and the shelves of your local liquor store turn bright orange with the annual onslaught of pumpkin beers. There’s nothing wrong with that; these beers have their place in my belly and my heart. But, there’s only so much gourd one man can consume. If only there were a pumpkin-free beer built for the fall. Enter: Renegade Brewing Company’s Pancakes Maple Porter.

It’s Halloween, Samhain, All Hallows Eve and the time marking the end of the harvest season and the beginning of winter or the “darker half” of the year. When the veil between the worlds is thin, we attempt to travel between those worlds. The easiest way to travel between those worlds is time travel (we haven’t figured this one out yet, you?!) OR travel by way of partying down in celebration. We have a few celebrations you may want to get out to to see if time travel is possible!

Epic Brewing Company | Oak & Orchard: Syrah
October 26, 2016 | Brady AkersI remember attending the celebration for Epic Brewing‘s first dive into sours in June 2015, including waxing my own bottle of Sour Brainless on Peaches, free peach ice cream and even fire-roasted peaches. The beer was worth the hype and I was immediately excited to see how this souring program would grow.

Inside this small noodle house sits dishes of soup dumplings, amazingly good pot stickers and other Chinese-Laotian dishes that recently made Lao Wang Noodle House #16 on The 50 Best Restaurants in Denver list, according to Zagat.
