Founders Brewing Company | PC Pils
August 18, 2017 | Jessica SpenglerFounders Brewing Company’s PC Pils has become my summer go-to beer. I’m not certain how that came to be–I didn’t search it out. I simply picked it out one day when looking for an easy drinking brew, and was pleasantly surprised with the light, refreshing style. Before long it became the natural beer to pick up when we were looking to drink something reliable and quenching.
The Weekly Buzz | April 28 – May 4
May 5, 2017 | Dan BortzIf there was one thing that helped me get through a rough week at work, it is knowing that the social media coordinator at Wicked Weed Brewing has a much harder job. Any time a craft brewer is bought out by big beer, you can be 100% certain that a twitterstorm of epic proportions is on the horizon. It’s a meteorological fact. Ask any scientist. I can’t even get Wicked Weed in my state, and it’s still a sad turn of events. My hatred of ABInBev burns with the intensity of a thousand suns. They’ll probably merge with Walmart next, forming the Buy-N-Large corporation, which will eventually force us from this planet to aimlessly roam the galaxy (a la the Disney/Pixar film Wall-E).
The Weekly Buzz | April 14 – 20
April 21, 2017 | Dan BortzThe inclusion of so many Pennsylvania breweries was a happy accident brought on by sleep deprivation, but I’m sticking with it. I love the beers brewed in my commonwealth and thing that you should drink them no matter where you live. I will personally guide any and all beer tourists to the best breweries in PA. I mean… I’ll do it if I’m not busy. I’ll probably be busy… Have no fear, dear reader. We have plenty of fun the rest of the country in this edition of The Weekly Buzz, too.

March 10, 2017 | Dan BortzWednesday was International Women’s Day and breweries took to social media in droves to celebrate the women who make the brewing industry tick. The Weekly Buzz | December 2 – 8
December 9, 2016 | Dan BortzIt’s dark when I go to work in the morning. It’s dark when I come home. Rather than sit next to a sun lamp, it’s much more fun to crack open a few craft brews. It’s my prescription for enduring the darkness. Also, on an unrelated note, I am not a medical professional. Pop the lid off the bottle, start taking your dose, and enjoy this week’s edition of The Weekly Buzz! Read More
The Weekly Buzz | November 25 – December 1
December 2, 2016 | Dan BortzThe delicious foods of Thanksgiving are behind us, and the darkness of Christmas shopping has enveloped us all. This week started out with three shopping holidays: Black Friday, Small Business Saturday, and Cyber Monday. What should I get my dad for Christmas? Does he already have a belt sander? I’m going to turn on my shower, curl up in the fetal position and wait for this all to blow over. You? You can pass your time with the beer news and shenanigans inside this edition of The Weekly Buzz.
The Weekly Buzz | November 18 – 24
November 25, 2016 | Dan BortzAs I write this, I am faced with the impending doom of a meal with my in-laws. I have been drinking since 7:30AM, and I hope that my intoxication doesn’t bleed through and ruin the high level of quality that you’ve all come to expect from my writing. You’ll be reading this on Black Friday, so go hide in a closet and wait for the mini-apocalypse to reach its natural conclusion. Submitted for your approval, this is The Weekly Buzz. Good night, and good luck.

Ultimate 6er | Comedy Bang Bang: The Podcast
July 21, 2016 | Dan BortzI started listening to podcasts as a way to kill time at work, and Comedy Bang! Bang! was one of my first. At the beginning, I was completely baffled. Who were these people? What the heck were they yammering on about? There seemed to be punchlines with no setups, setups that went nowhere, stories that started in the middle, and a bevy of bizarre catchphrases. Inexplicably, I continued to listen until… EUREKA! A callback made sense! Before I knew it storylines were coming together, and I was finally on the inside of all those jokes I didn’t understand before. Read More
