What We’re Drinking | March 6, 2020
March 6, 2020 | Seth GarlandIf you think 2020 has been off to a rough start, you’re not alone. Weather sucks. Politics suck. Coronavirus sucks. Comcast, DISH and Altitude are still dicking with sports fans and depriving Coloradoans of their only good sports teams. The price of hand sanitizer and protective masks have reached black market kidney levels while some poor contractor is demolishing drywall with a t-shirt wrapped around his face. I mean it probably wasn’t a great t-shirt—probably some random swag t-shirt acquired as a third-place consolation prize at a Geeks Who Drink trivia night or something—but now the shirt’s ruined and there’s no way his lungs are protected. But as long as people are stocked up for the almost-as-bad-as-the-flu virus, that’s what really matters.
So maybe it’s the end of the world, maybe it’s not. All I know is the PorchDrinking team’s gonna get their tasty brews in before the whole shithouse goes up in flames, man. Sit back with a cold one and welcome the end of all things in this week’s What We’re Drinking.
DONUT PANIC | Beer + Donut Pairings
June 7, 2019 | Karen MillsIf you donut know, National Donut Day is today! For all you beer lovers out there who indulge in a donut every now and then (perhaps with an emphasis on the “now”), here’s a pairing that will make your taste buds dance in joy.
There’s always some fun in pairing various foods, sweets, desserts, etc. with various different types of beer. This particular pairing puts an emphasis on the sweet. The dough-y fried/baked goodness that is a donut is such a sweet treat to enjoy on all occasions. So, in preparation for #NationalDonutDay, we hit up Voodoo Doughnuts and raided the beer fridge to create this perfect pairing.
What We’re Drinking | February 22, 2019
February 22, 2019 | Pam CatoeThis week kicked off with a long weekend for most of us, and I spent mine exploring Napa Valley for the first time. This of course included a trip to Russian River Brewing Company in time for the last Pliny the Younger release. However you spent your holiday, another weekend is upon us, so grab a cold craft beer and enjoy your time off. Here are a few ideas from your PorchDrinking family in this week’s What We’re Drinking.
Ultimate 6er | Tornado
May 25, 2017 | Mark ElliotSevere weather can be crushing. Tornadoes can toss cars, homes and possessions upside down. Tornadoes can forever change the landscape. We know that occasionally, tornadoes can take lives. So why write a lighthearted beer article about tornadoes? Because anything that can raise your awareness about these storms, and potentially start you on a path of awareness and preparedness, is a good thing. Think about your disaster plan, and how you’d keep yourself, your family and your loved ones safe as you crack into some of these delicious, although ominously named, beers.
