After what seemed like an eternity, it’s finally football season again! If you’re an NFL fan, a college fan or just love football of any kind, plenty of your favorite breweries will have games playing in their tap rooms. So, if you’re trying to get out of the house to catch a game, why not enjoy it with a cold beer and your closest friends (beer lovers, obviously)?

School, both public and colleges, are back in session. Summer is hightailing it and so it’s basically the holiday season now? That’s how it feels, anyway. Ultimate 6er | Road Trip Regional Edition: Mountain

Join us as we road trip across the United States in what is to be a follow up article to the Craft Beer Across America article. In that article we explored a craft beer from every state (excluding districts and territories) to showcase some of the unknown, or lesser-known craftier beers that the U.S. craft beer scene has to offer. While that article focused mainly on the beers, this article focuses on specific breweries from a region we think would be fun to visit. We’re going to sprinkle in a couple of bigger craft breweries in each six-brewery regional section just to help spread the word for some of the not-so-big breweries in the mix.
This is by no means a “best of” brewery list. We just wanted to highlight some breweries that brew excellent beer and have great environments and to possibly fine out more about what they do other than brew beer. Please join us as we start our road trip with the Mountain Region which includes Colorado, Idaho, Montana, Utah and Wyoming.

It looks like we finally have some cooler temps ahead for this weekend, and you know what that means! Time to sit out on the patio at night—maybe even by a fire if you’re out in the mountains—while you sip on a refreshing brew. Well, our local CO breweries are making sure that you can find what you’re looking for, whether it’s a high ABV Barrel-Aged Stout or a crushable summery Ale.

Pipeworks Brewing Co. | Super Rainbow Sure Bet

Super Rainbow Sure Bet from Pipeworks Brewing Company in Chicago isn’t subtle with its can design or willingness to use lots of ingredients. The beer itself, however, will surprise you. It’s a delicate but nuanced tropical Imperial IPA that is more like being kissed by a unicorn than kicked by one.

As expected, now that we’ve gotten clear of the 4th of July, we’re seeing a little lull in new packaged beer releases. But don’t fret! There are still plenty of brand new releases along with a few surprise returns for you to enjoy. Take your pick to help you beat the heat this summer, but make sure to keep it local as always!
21st Amendment & CLS Hop Farms | Close Encounters of the Hop Kind DIPA

21st Amendment recently released their Imperial IPA collaboration with family-owned hop farm, CLS Farms. Close Encounters of the Hop Kind is a Double IPA using some of the new and innovative hops coming out of Yakima Valley. Eric Desmarais, co-founder of CLS, was on hand at a recent event to walk people through the process that brewers go through to chose certain hops. Using El Dorado, Cashmere, Zappa, and their new CLS-X14 as examples for what different hops evoke and express.

Levante Brewing Company | Hop Cartel: The Chron

If you drive an hour west of Philadelphia, you hit West Chester, Pennsylvania and the awesome people of Levante Brewing Company. The brewery, which opened in 2015, houses a 15-BBL system, and they use it to the full extent—making a slew of styles so every palate can enjoy a beer.
They also have a series of hoppier brews, known as Hop Cartel. Each of these Double IPAs features a different blend of hops and clocks in at over 8% alcohol. The Chron was made with Citra, Strata, and HBC-586 hops and packs a punch with an 8.1% ABV. Read More

There was a band that released a song in the mid-nineties called Peaches. If you’re lucky enough to remember this catchy song, you’ll remember that they talk about moving to the country to eat a lot of peaches. While you can get peaches in the country, you don’t always have to go there to get them like they want you to believe. Heck, you can even go to Atlanta and drink them in the form of a beer.

For their first new beer release in five years, the old-school folks at Good People are jumping onto a new-school beer trend with Hazy Snake IPA.
Based in Birmingham, Alabama, Good People Brewing Co. prides themselves on brewing “the #1-selling IPA in Alabama for the last 10 years,” known simply as Good People IPA. Aside from this flagship, Good People distributes several other core brands throughout Alabama and Middle Tennessee, including their Snake Handler Double IPA, Muchacho Mexican-style Lager, Good People Pale Ale, and now, Hazy Snake IPA.
