2022 PorchDrinking Staff’s New Beer Resolutions

In 1919, Prohibition came, but then things were roaring. In 2019, SARS-CoV-2 arrived, but at least breweries were still pouring. So yeah, things are tough, but we can still enjoy a good drink. In fact, we have more than 8,000 breweries producing beer in 2022, and that gives us something to look forward to. So, it is time for us to reveal our 2022 New Beer Resolutions. Believe it or not, summer is once again drawing to a close. Before we dive into pumpkin spice bombs and fresh hop season, let us raise a liter to German-style beers with a round-up of Colorado’s craft beer-centric Oktoberfest celebrations. So lace up those dirndls and strap on the lederhosen it’s time for the beautifully crisp, easy-drinking, toasted malt forward profile of Oktoberfest Märzen lagers. So are we drinking cheap beer again or not? While American sales might be down, distributors are backing off of the craft beer craze and pushing “cheap beer” ad campaigns further. I guess we’ll just have to wait and see. But it’s okay, because we still have Sam Calagione to show us how we’ve been drinking our beers wrong all along anyway.
