What We’re Drinking | July 19, 2019
July 19, 2019 | Justin PennelDepending on how you look it at, summer is just about halfway over. If that isn’t cause for a beer or two, then I don’t know what is. But while we still have another half to go, let’s send it off in style and have some great beers. Here’s what we’re drinking this week. Read More
What We’re Drinking | June 21, 2019
June 21, 2019 | Justin PennelToday is officially the first day of summer! With summer comes a multitude of fun activities, most being in the great outdoors. One activity many craft beer enthusiasts are gearing up for is beer festival season. Get out there and have some delicious beers and remember to stay hydrated! This is What’re Drinking.
What We’re Drinking | April 12, 2019
April 14, 2019 | Pam CatoeFrom National Beer Day to the Craft Brewers Conference in Denver, it’s been a big week for craft beer. This was my first year to attend CBC, and if you are in the industry, this is a must do event. I learned so much and met so many great folks, not to mention all the new beers I sampled. Now that we are all back home, recovering from a beer filled week, here are some ideas for your relaxing weekend in this week’s What We’re Drinking.
What We’re Drinking | March 15, 2019
March 15, 2019 | Constance Del RioYou guys, we made it!! The clocks have sprung forward and I think I am finally getting used to the “time change.” Today I walked our puppers in flip flops–yes, flip flops!! Thank you spring for raining down sunshine instead of water in the Bay Area!! Sadly, the whole country isn’t sharing these feelings as Colorado is dealing with a literal blizzard! Where ever you are, be safe this weekend as many people around the States celebrate St. Patrick’s Day with copious amounts of green beer (or Irish beer) and corned beef. Grab a cold one, or Pedialyte, and see what we’re drinking.
Interstate Adventure on a Spontaneous Ale in the American Southwest
February 22, 2019 | Asa StoneA mutual love for beer first connected John Rowley of Rowley Farmhouse Ales in Santa Fe and Eric Erman of Ermanos Craft Beer & Wine Bar in Tucson over a decade ago. And the spirit of collaboration also connected them with fellow funk enthusiasts Matt Brown of Tombstone Brewing Company and Rob Hammelman of Sand-Reckoner Vineyards to collaboratively create a Spontaneous Ale that features the terroir of Cochise County in Arizona using only local ingredients.
What We’re Drinking | January 25, 2019
January 25, 2019 | Pam CatoeI was fortunate to spend my entire weekend with the lovely ladies from Pink Boots Society at the Biannual Conference here in Austin, Texas. We laughed, we learned, we even hung out with some goats, and most importantly, we were inspired. Then came Monday and the inevitable return to the dreaded work week. No matter what you are dealing with this week, (frozen temperatures perhaps?), here’s a little drinking inspiration from your PorchDrinking team in this edition of What We’re Drinking.
What We’re Drinking | December 28, 2018
December 28, 2018 | Pam CatoeWe are officially in the middle of the holiday week, and it’s probably time for a nice break from all the festivities. Here is what your favorite PorchDrinkers are enjoying this holiday season, it’s time for another installment of What We’re Drinking.
Ultimate 6er | Southern Arizona Sampler
April 4, 2018 | Justin PennelI feel fortunate as a beer nerd to live in Southern Arizona, Tucson specifically. The beer scene here has started to gain some national attention, but still largely flies under the radar. Tucson is a legitimate beer destination with 20+ breweries, drive out a little bit further and there are additional breweries in Tombstone, Bisbee, and Sonoita. The desert is definitely not dry here, so sit back and crack open a few delicious local brews. Read More
What We’re Drinking | March 23, 2018
March 23, 2018 | Constance Del RioSpring is here, but you would never know it by the various storms popping up in the news lately! The East Coast is covered in snow, and today in the Bay Area I drove through tough winds. I for one am looking forward to clear skies and higher temperatures so I can enjoy more time outside and not feel like I will be blown away. Join me in warming up with dog cuddles, crack a new cold one and see What We’re Drinking.
What We’re Drinking | March 9, 2018
March 9, 2018 | Dan BortzThe PorchDrinking staff was so busy drinking and writing about great beer that they didn’t even have time to send us their photos! Luckily, we have a few powerful multitaskers in our midst who sent these glorious beers for us to ogle. Grab a sticky note and prepare to take some brief notes. This is What We’re Drinking.

What We’re Drinking | November 10, 2017
November 10, 2017 | Dan BortzEvery week, the PorchDrinking staff puts their livers through a crucible of pain in order to find the most beautiful brews. This week was no exception. Yes, we did need copious amounts of Pedialyte, but we did preserve through the morning-after headaches and greasy diner breakfast platters. With the weekend fast approaching, we present you with a few new options. This is What We’re Drinking.

Tombstone Brewing Co. | Little Baby Wyatt
November 10, 2017 | Justin PennelWelcome to the Wild West. No town represents that way of life better than the town too tough to die—Tombstone, Arizona. Many people know this town as one big tourist attraction, where you feel like you’ve gone back in time into the heart of the Old West. Nevertheless, though it is a rustic and historic town, the city is also home to one of the state’s top breweries—Tombstone Brewing Company. Tombstone has only been open a little over a year, but they have won over the taste buds of craft beer drinkers around the state, and with beers such as Little Baby Wyatt, the brewery is also appealing to the locals who usually prefer macro-brews.

What We’re Drinking | October 20, 2017
October 20, 2017 | Constance Del RioIt’s been a crazy couple weeks here in the Bay Area. The North Bay is on fire, taking so many people’s livelihoods, homes, and wineries, and now Santa Cruz is on fire. Our air quality was on par with Beijing! Not to mention some people took advantage of the fires and looted, so not okay. This week the air quality has gotten back to tolerable levels and the relief efforts have been amazing to see roll in. Lots of Bay Area Breweries and Tap rooms held fundraisers for different funds! Take a load off and take a look at What We’re Drinking!
