As we bid farewell to March and hello to April, we here at PorchDrinking have had our hands full with some amazing events, vacation, bad weather and lots more. Nothing soothes the soul of a craft beer blogger more than a craft beer…am I wrong?! Oh, and happy opening day to all! Here’s what we’re drinking–play ball!

You guys, we made it!! The clocks have sprung forward and I think I am finally getting used to the “time change.” Today I walked our puppers in flip flops–yes, flip flops!! Thank you spring for raining down sunshine instead of water in the Bay Area!! Sadly, the whole country isn’t sharing these feelings as Colorado is dealing with a literal blizzard! Where ever you are, be safe this weekend as many people around the States celebrate St. Patrick’s Day with copious amounts of green beer (or Irish beer) and corned beef. Grab a cold one, or Pedialyte, and see what we’re drinking.

This is the best time! The days are getting longer and I get some daylight when I get home from work, which makes me feel like my day isn’t shot in the dark… literally! I can’t wait to change these clocks forward. If the days feel like they are going by quickly, buckle up because they are about to speed up. It gets super busy where I live around this time. I don’t blame people for wanting to ditch their socks for sandals. Florida is a great place to warm up and enjoy a cold brew. I’ll make sure to stock up on beer for any friends or family that come in from up north to thaw out and relax here. We are working on a nice variety in this week’s What We’re Drinking.

Where did the time go?! How is it already March?! I’m always the one that forgets February is a “short” month (28 versus 30 days) so I totally forgot to throw our article together and here we are – Saturday! I promise to do better guys but today is my Thursday (yay Industry week) so I am now off to provide tours of the brewery where I work. Grab a cold beer and see what we’re drinking.

You made it through the first full week of the year! Pat yourself on the back, or better yet, pour yourself a beer. I started off my first week paddle boarding and hanging out with friends at the sandbar, and I’m ending my week going to an infamous beer festival in Fort Lauderdale. This year has treated me well and I love highlighting the best moments in between grad school and work. We are all about that life-work balance at PorchDrinking, and we would love to share some fine beers to lead you in the right direction.

The air is finally chilly where I live in Florida, so we finally feel the holiday spirit minus the snow. Around this time, we tend to have a lot on our plate, even after we think there’s no way to fill up our plate more than we did on Thanksgiving. There is an endless amount of activities to enjoy coming up, plus tons of beer options to choose from while we are in the prime of the season. My best advice is to take it slow to enjoy every moment. Many craft beer drinkers would agree when I say the best way to embrace the moment is with a great brew by your side. This week, the PorchDrinkers have a stellar lineup to inspire the joy a craft can conjure.

We have a fresh month ahead of us, and to me the correct way to start a month is having some fresh beer to match. I don’t know about you, but I’m ready to turn over a new leaf this fall by forgetting the candy coma I endured earlier this week… that was rough. Is a candy coma a medical condition? If so, I had it and I didn’t even trick or treat. Chuck that leftover candy (if you even have any) and pour a fresh beer instead. The disappointment of finishing a unique beer that was so good is something I am sure we have all run into. We stare into the empty glass oh so sadly/dramatically. The non-stop downpour in the Southeast adds a more dramatic effect in my case. All that is left is the lacing. Now we have to find one that was just as good or better?!
