April 12, 2024 | Jennie OlsonEach year, thousands of industry members gather for one of beer’s biggest and most anticipated events: The Craft Brewers Conference (CBC). This year, the conference will be held in Las Vegas, Nevada from April 21-24. A one-of-a-kind-can’t-miss event, CBC gives attendees the opportunity to learn from industry leaders in 60+ seminars, engage with suppliers providing new products and services to help grow successful businesses, and of course — cheer on their peers at the electric World Beer Cup award ceremony. We caught up with the Brewers Association ahead of this year’s event to highlight a bit of what’s to come – and to provide a few tips to attendees to get the most out of their CBC experience.

Black Lotus Brewing Co. | Ninja Pirate Barleywine
May 11, 2017 | Danny KingLike many a Pirate’s doomed lusts for treasure, I’ve frequently attempted (and failed) to get my hands on Black Lotus Brewing Ninja Pirate to review it for the PorchDrinking.com audience. Winning a gold medal for best strong ale at the World Beer Cup tends to bring some competition for the bottles.
My first attempt, a week and a half after its release, failed because the beer was sold out. In my second attempt to procure a bottle of Ninja Pirate, a mere two days after the beer release, I was at least laughed at by head brewer Nick Joseph. It took one more failure before I finally got my hands on a bottle and subsequently found time to share the pride of Clawson, MI with you all. Trust me; Ninja Pirate is worth the wait.
2016 Summer Olympics | Pennsylvania Craft Beer Pride
August 5, 2016 | Dan BortzThe upcoming 2016 Olympics in Rio are about to evoke some serious excitement and national pride. Americans everywhere are looking forward to tuning in to swimming, gymnastics and beach volleyball. For two short weeks, we will all look to the medal counts, feeling as if our success as a nation is in the balance.
Craft Beer Takes on the Capital: Brewers Association Craft Beer Conference and BrewExpo America
April 3, 2013 | Erin PetreyLast week, everyone from brewers and cicerones, to keg manufacturers and beer academics – over 6,400 of them – descended upon Washington, DC to engage in the annual Brewers Association Craft Beer Conference and BrewExpo America for a week of hard work and industry networking infused with a heavy dose of beer drinking and occasional mischief. This gathering differs greatly from the Great American Beer Festival, which is much more focused on the actual brews themselves, rather than the industry. The entire event hosts two main components: the Craft Beer Conference (seminar-based) and BrewExpo America (an industry trade show).
