Side Gate Brewery Celebrates 5th Anniversary With Beer Releases and Live Music

Side Gate Brewery & Beer Garden is celebrating five years of craft beer, community, and memorable experiences with a special anniversary event in Concord. The celebration will feature new beer releases, live music, food, drink specials – and activities for guests of all ages. The milestone highlights the brewery’s journey as a local gathering place and its continued commitment to quality and connection.

A press release from Side Gate Brewery & Beer Garden announced that the iconic party to celebrate its 5th anniversary will be on Saturday, August 8, from 12 p.m. to 10 p.m.

The Anniversary Party will feature a double beer release, all-day live music, drink specials, a raffle and a Mexican-fusion food menu—and is free to attend.

Side Gate originally opened its doors during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2021. Five years later, it has been voted as the Best Brewery/Taproom in the East Bay two years in a row and continues to serve as the go-to establishment where patrons come to feel welcomed and treated like family.

“Opening in the midst of the pandemic fueled Side Gate’s steadfast commitment to delivering excellent beer while providing a safe environment where community members can come together to connect, relax and enjoy the company of their community,” said Kevin Wilson and Paul Culbertson, co-founders of Side Gate Brewery. “From getting the keys in 2020, starting construction and then opening in September 2021, it’s been a wild and unforgettable ride. Since opening, Side Gate has become a cornerstone of both the local community and the craft beer scene. The brewery has championed homebrewers by hosting competitions that give winners the opportunity to brew on a commercial scale; showcased local chefs and a rotating lineup of top food trucks; earned recognition for its innovative sustainability efforts; partnered with organizations making a meaningful impact across the Bay Area; and fostered a warm, family-like atmosphere where everyone feels welcome. In fact, Bay Area residents voted Side Gate as having the Best Trivia Night in the East Bay this past summer, in addition to Best Brewery/Taproom.

As a special for its anniversary, Side Gate has teamed with DOZE Homebrew Club to roll out a collaboration beer that honors the brewery’s 5-year anniversary and DOZE’s 30-year anniversary. The never-before-released IPA will be on tap at Side Gate’s Anniversary Party. The celebration is open to the public (all ages) and will take place at 1822 Grant Street, Concord, CA 94520.
