What PorchDrinking Is All About
Before you pitch us, here’s the short version:
PorchDrinking covers craft beer, other beverages, food, travel, lifestyle, music, culture, and the stories that live in the spaces between. If it pairs well with good company, good drinks, or good vibes, it probably fits here.
We celebrate breweries, bars, destinations, homebrewers, festivals, cocktails, non-alcoholic innovations, outdoor adventures, creative makers, and the people shaping beverage culture today.
If you’re excited about any of that, you’re in the right place!

Pitching Made Simple
Here’s how to get started:
1. Find Your Angle – What lights you up? Is it beer history, brewery spotlights, drinks & travel, creative cocktails, festival recaps, lifestyle stories, homebrewing mishaps, or the way music + beer collide? Start where you’re genuinely curious.
2. Be Yourself – We’re not looking for “perfect writers” — we’re looking for real voices. Authenticity beats academic polish every time.
3. Send Your Pitch – Email a short summary of your idea and why it belongs on PorchDrinking. You’re also welcome to send a completed draft if you already wrote it.
4. Get the Green Light – Once approved, you’ll get the go-ahead to write or finalize your piece.
5. Write Something Readers Will Love – Aim for 1,000–1,500 words. Use subheads, bullets, and visuals when helpful. Tone options: conversational, journalistic, educational, playful, authoritative — you choose, as long as it’s engaging.
6. Keep It Original – Your submission must be original and plagiarism-free. If you cite facts or use sourced info, include your references.
7. Include Any Media – Photos, graphics, or videos are welcome — as long as you own the rights or have permission to use them.
8. Submit Your Draft – Send it over as a Word Doc or Google Doc. Our editors will review, lightly edit for clarity/grammar if needed, and notify you when it’s published.
