Newbies & Freshies Adapts, Illinois Craft Beer Week Postponed
For the past three years, PorchDrinking and Bitter Pops, a craft beer bar and bottle shop, have put on Newbies and Freshies during Illinois Craft Beer Week to highlight the freshest and newest breweries in Chicagoland.
This year, with all events postponed, Newbies and Freshies will change the format. Instead of people coming to Bitter Pops to experience new and fresh beers hitting Chicago over the past year, we’ve created a box that you can take home full of a dozen beers from a variety of breweries.
While the box will focus on predominately hazy IPAs, there will be a few other styles including a Wheat Lager and West Coast IPA. The box will also feature some beers that are hard to get in the market or only available in the box or at the brewery directly and won’t see distribution.
Hop Butcher Kielbasa King, their newest Double Dry-Hopped IPA, flew off the shelves last week but a can of it will be in every box. Some other new beers will include Phase Three Double Dry-Hopped Mosaic Double CREME, Riverlands Cosmic Secret and Lil Beaver C.A.S. Space Crystals.
Metropolitan cans just hit the market last week and a can of Jet Stream, their Wheat Lager, will be apart of the box as well. Other non-hazy beers include O’so Lupulin Maximus, Marz Tulip Mania and Noon Whistle Brüski.
A classic from Pipeworks that once was only available in bombers, Emerald Grouper, an Imperial IPA with honey, has made its way to cans and will be apart of the Newbies and Freshies box.
With the Newbies and Freshies box, craft beer fans can pick up 12 great beers from 12 great breweries all at once.
The box will be $54.99 and be available for curbside pickup from Bitter Pops or for delivery if you fall within their delivery radius. Starting May 14, you can head to www.bitterpops.com to place your order.
