Boys Are From Märzen Podcast | Brittany Canterbury Beale’s Beer
In Episode 41 of the “Boys Are From Märzen” podcast, Kindsey Bernhard converses with Brittany Canterbury of Beale’s Beer.
Canterbury is the general manager of Beale’s Beer in Bedford, Virginia.
Beale’s Beer and Brittany Canterbury went viral in early March when a customer emailed the Bedford-based brewery that “your manager is bitch” after a customer was refused service for refusing to wear a mask.
Beale’s took the opportunity to turn the situation into something positive. They brewed a beer in support of their employees and all other service industry workers who worked tirelessly through the pandemic to ensure the safety of their customers.
Your Manager is Bitch is an American Porter with notes of toasted pecans and caramel. In addition to a screenshot of the email, the can label reads:
“This beer is a love letter to all the service industry workers, who despite a global pandemic, endeavor each day to provide a safe, welcoming environment for their guests. While we can’t prevent verbal abuse from that small fraction of customers who refuse to acknowledge your humanity, we will continue to call it out and stand with you.”
