In a press release, FiftyFifty Brewing revealed that it was bringing home a Gold Medal at the 2025 European Beer Star Awards for its flagship hoppy ale, CAPA (California Pale Ale) — a major win in one of the world’s most competitive beer categories.

Held annually in Germany, the European Beer Star is considered one of the most prestigious global competitions for craft beer. Winning a medal at this event places breweries among the elite worldwide — and for FiftyFifty, this is just the latest in a growing list of accolades.

Also earning high honors at the competition was FiftyFifty’s Tahoe Pilz, which won Silver in the Bohemian Style Pale Lager category, following up on its Gold Medal at last year’s European Beer Star and a Bronze Medal at the World Beer Cup in 2023. This continued success is cementing Tahoe Pilz’s status as a world-class lager — brewed right here in Truckee.

In addition to the international honors, FiftyFifty also received three medals at the 2025 U.S. Open Beer Championship:
